bostonlawman2003 Posted April 14, 2016 #1 Posted April 14, 2016 Hi Guys, Going to be replacing my stock rear shock with a Hagon on Sunday, wondering if anyone knows what size socket I need to remove the nut holding the schrader valve on? I know it's big, just not sure how big. Also, all i need to remove is the side cover, as well as the rear passenger floorboards and mounts in order have access to the top nut / bolt on the shock, correct? Want to make sure I have everything I need in advance so I can get this done then get out riding. Going to be 70 on Sunday here! As always...thanks for the help!
dave_wells Posted April 15, 2016 #2 Posted April 15, 2016 Just the passenger peg need to be removed. Don't forget to support the rear tire if you have it jacked . It will drop when you remove the shock Sorry I don't remember the bolt size I put a hago in last year and I like it.
crowrod Posted April 16, 2016 #4 Posted April 16, 2016 Schrader is 19mm or 3/4 inch top shock nut is 17mm you will need a swivel for easy removal
bostonlawman2003 Posted April 18, 2016 Author #5 Posted April 18, 2016 Thanks for the replies guys, got it done yesterday in a little over 30 minutes! This forum is such an excellent source of information for me. I never would have attempted this before, the knowledge on here really gives me a confidence boost and the feeling I get after doing something like this is so satisfying. Thanks again!
