videoarizona Posted April 10, 2016 #1 Posted April 10, 2016 This is a neat clip of a younger Glen Campbell playing the William Tell Overture (with the back-up of a symphony orchestra) and dedicating it to Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. Hope you enjoy the excellent guitar playing, and the sounds of the orchestra as they take you back to those days of yesteryear. Another talent lost to Altzheimers. https://www.youtube.com/embed/GUBhE00h9U0?feature=player_detailpage
Freebird Posted April 10, 2016 #2 Posted April 10, 2016 He was pretty remarkable. I agree that it's sad what Alzheimers does to people. Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed that. I continue to play the guitar for my own enjoyment. It does NOT come natural to me and I will never be good. It is sort of my way to relax though. Never play for anybody...just me.
SilvrT Posted April 10, 2016 #3 Posted April 10, 2016 I'm like Freebird... only play and sing for myself.... because when I do, everyone runs away!! Sad to hear he passed R.I.P Mr Campbell. I watched a special on him when he did (or attempted to do) his last performance and it was all about him and his Alzheimers and what it was doing to him. Very sad indeed!
Freebird Posted April 10, 2016 #4 Posted April 10, 2016 I don't think that he has passed away. He's in the final stages of the terrible disease and it just unable to talk any longer.
Holly Posted April 11, 2016 #5 Posted April 11, 2016 Saw him in Sioux Falls a number of years ago, was a great show, great showman, singer, and musician!
