Lug Nut Posted April 9, 2016 #1 Posted April 9, 2016 Can the front end of a RSV be lowered with different/progressive fork sprigs? I would like it a bit lower and would rather do new fork oil and seals and better springs than shoving the forks up into the triple tree.
Yammer Dan Posted April 10, 2016 #2 Posted April 10, 2016 Not sure if there is a shorter spring for them. I'm going to remove leveling links and shove tubes up a little. Had this figured out last summer and never got in shape to do it. Now gotta rethink all of it. I want to drop the entire bike and keep it level.
Yammer Dan Posted April 10, 2016 #3 Posted April 10, 2016 And NO dropping it the way I did last spring is NOT what I had in mind!!!
ragtop69gs Posted April 10, 2016 #4 Posted April 10, 2016 Sliding the tubes up in the clamps is all I know about for lowering the front. If using the old springs only go 3/4" or you risk the tube covers hitting the fender mounts. I installed sonic springs with 15W fork oil last year, tubes slid up 7/8" and love the way it handles now. With the 15W oil it rides a bit stiffer but not harsh.
