Venturous Randy Posted April 7, 2016 #1 Posted April 7, 2016 Linda'a 18 year old granddaughter slid her car into a stopped car on wet payment getting the usual front end damage: hood, bumper, AC condenser radiator, etc. She only had liability insurance so the car got towed home. It is/was a very nice 06 Hyundia Senota and I am in the process of putting it back together. There appears to be no frame damage as it was a relative slow speed impact. My question actually pertains to the airbag sensor. The driver side airbag deployed and I can get another one off ebay for about $75. What I don't know about is whether the sensor is a one time thing and has to be replaced also. They are also on ebay for about $50, but I don't know if they have been in a airbag deployment. I don't want to have to buy a new one from a dealer. Anyone know anything about this? Randy

vzuden Posted April 8, 2016 #5 Posted April 8, 2016 I haven't worked on one for a few years but they used to require sensor replacement and quite often more than one. The early systems required at least two sensors to trip before a bag went off.
