Wizard765 Posted April 2, 2016 #1 Posted April 2, 2016 So the other day found a fairly large puddle of oil directly under my rear shock... Sooooooo guess I'm looking to replace it.. Cash is somewhat scarce at the moment so was wondering if a used one would be available. Has anyone triked lately? Does anyone have a good used one they would sell me(parts bike)? If not what should I get and where is the best price? To add to the $ problem is the exchange rate between Canada and USA.. anything I buy I have to add about 35% to the price..
RedRider Posted April 2, 2016 #2 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) I purchased a Hagon shock last year and have liked it. Less expensive than a Works shock (or an OEM). The Hagen, as well as the Works, is rebuildable I do believe. RR Edited April 4, 2016 by RedRider
XV1100SE Posted April 2, 2016 #4 Posted April 2, 2016 Is it the same a first Gen shock? No....not the same. The 2nd Gen version is a much "improved" part.
Flyinfool Posted April 2, 2016 #5 Posted April 2, 2016 No....not the same. The 2nd Gen version is a much "improved" part. :rotf:
Wizard765 Posted April 4, 2016 Author #6 Posted April 4, 2016 I'm also looking at the Hagen shock.. Where did you get it from? I purchased a Hagen shock last year and have liked it. Less expensive than a Works shock (or an OEM). The Hagen, as well as the Works, is rebuildable I do believe. RR
bongobobny Posted April 5, 2016 #8 Posted April 5, 2016 You don't want to be riding around on a bad rear shock Wayne, to me it's suicide...
Wizard765 Posted April 6, 2016 Author #9 Posted April 6, 2016 Bob: Thank you for your concern. I agree with you and have no intention of riding around on the bad shock.. Just right now trying to decide on which shock to get and where to get it from.. OEM, Works or Hagon.. leaning toward Hagon.. Waiting on the local shop to see about the price here in Canada.. Also found a Canadian Distributor. But sometimes it's less expensive to order right from the U.S. and have it shipped.. even with exchange rates.. The shipping so far is over $60 to me but free to you.. if I order out of California The way I see that is I get a free trip to visit my Friend in Arcade..
bongobobny Posted April 7, 2016 #10 Posted April 7, 2016 OK!!! Always look forward to you visiting!!!
