Flyinfool Posted March 29, 2016 Share #26 Posted March 29, 2016 For all of the Maybe procrastinators. There is a Maybe option on the Calendar. Even a maybe is better than nothing for the planners, you can always change the maybe to a yes or no once your situations firm up.
rickardracing Posted March 29, 2016 Share #27 Posted March 29, 2016 I am planning on being there, but I understand if you want to go to every other year. I have no issue with no catered lunch or raffle. Scaled down works, but ultimately it is your call boss man.

cowpuc Posted March 29, 2016 Share #29 Posted March 29, 2016 @saddlebum, nice work! Re: MD As one of the newbies, I've yet to make a long trip to an event. Been two years. But things are progressing on the personal side, so this summer may hold promise for me. Plus, even though I know I can still put miles on a scoot, I'm hesitant to spend two weeks on road. So I'm not sure I can commit. But will make up my mind soon..... I really don't like sitting on fence. As far as this year, Don... That really is your call. I can only imagine the effort you both put in to making your home available for a whole bunch of idiots like us!! So if you say not this year, then so it is. And if I do decide to make a trip.... And MD is cancelled... I'll just change directions a tad more West and have hot dogs with PUC and Tippy... And try to meet VR members along the way!! Now that there lop eared videoing varmint from Arizona is sure enough on the right track!! Sounds like a good 2nd choice for an adventure on a Venture to me David!! Yama Mama Posted March 29, 2016 Share #30 Posted March 29, 2016 You know Ron, (my first husband) and I will be there with our flying tent. I would not miss it. Some people go to resorts in the Bahamas, we go to Oberlin, Ohio. You do what you think is best Don. We appreciate all that you have already done for our group over the years our group has been around. Thank you for everything. Yama Mama

Rmar Posted March 29, 2016 Share #36 Posted March 29, 2016 OK so I talked with the doc yesterday about my chemo schedule and he said we would try to work it around so I can attend. If we can I plan on attending this year. Will have to see how it is going closer to the date. Hoping to see you all there and meet the members I can only read about and the ones I have had the pleasure of already meeting. Ricky

Bummer Posted March 30, 2016 Share #38 Posted March 30, 2016 Irene and I are working to get the details ironed out - weekend off (shouldn't be a problem), lodging and so forth. We plan to attend, but are reluctant to commit on the calendar until we actually know. For now we're a maybe, but with our fingers crossed. ReinyRooster Posted March 31, 2016 Share #41 Posted March 31, 2016 For any of the Ontario crew, my plan is to head down somewhere around supper hour Friday night and then stay at my cousin's place in New York state, and then ride to Freebird's Saturday for the day. Anyone travelling around that time let me know and we can group up.

Flyinfool Posted March 31, 2016 Share #43 Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Speaking of Friday night for dinner. Is anyone handling the arrangements at the Steak and Lube? Looking back at last years MD there were 99 members that did RSVP, 43 of those did not RSVP until April or May, and the MD was held in May last year. So with it being 3 weeks later this year The rush will likely not start for another 3 weeks yet. Got to give the procrastinators time to wake up. Marcarl Posted April 1, 2016 Share #46 Posted April 1, 2016 How is everybody gonna ogle my Spyder if MD doesn't progress,,, oh wait,, that was last year. I will be there!!! Friday night for dinner and then maybe all day Saturday. Marca would be disappointed if I didn't go,, gives her a chance to 'clean up' my shop with wood dust. Now if it decides t rain again???? well the maybe,, just maybe, I'll have to wear some rain-gear.
ragtop69gs Posted April 1, 2016 Share #47 Posted April 1, 2016 Don't say rain The ride home last year was one of the most miserable rides I've ever taken ! Cold, wet, wind, lightning, dark. Don't matter,,, I'll be there to do it all again
GAWildKat Posted April 1, 2016 Share #48 Posted April 1, 2016 Mike and I can't go, he has knee surgery in 2 weeks, the expense will hurt our savings in the coming months, so trips are out this year. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
jimmy99 Posted April 1, 2016 Share #49 Posted April 1, 2016 It seems like we don't get many newbees to come out to any of our VR events. It seems like we are getting new VR sign ups but don't seem to hear from many of them after they become members. Are we not making them feel welcome? If you are a new member and would like to meet a bunch of great folks, you really need to come out to one of our great events. It will only hurt for a minute lol. I guarantee you will have a great time. Robin and I are going to try to make MD but have to wait and see how thing go with her back and if she will be going back to work. Don, even a small group is better then none. From experience working with the WNY rally a lot of the sign ups come in the last 45 days. I know that doesn't make it any easier for you, but it is what it is. As a newbie (last year) I will say that I feel very welcome and if these were different times I would definitely attend as many of these events as I could. My personal situation, for now, really makes it difficult to get away. I would really enjoy meeting the people that post on the site as they all seem to be very genuine and a decent bunch.
