Godlover Posted March 21, 2016 #1 Posted March 21, 2016 With warm weather we are headed to Topeka, Ks to get the 09 Venture I purchase. A friend who has family down there is taking me and then I'm riding back. It is 4 1/2 hours one way. I looking forward to getting it to Iowa. I'm selling my friend's 09 Vision and just took it for a spin thinking I might like it, Not! The thing rattles and I don't care for the sitting position. Anyway, Kansas here I come!
Pegasus1300 Posted March 21, 2016 #2 Posted March 21, 2016 Put a can of Berryman's B12 or Startron in the tank and by the time you get home any carb problems should be resolved. That will be a nice "get acquainted ride"
eagleeye Posted March 21, 2016 #3 Posted March 21, 2016 Good luck with that new bike and enjoy your ride home

Daveand Barbie Posted March 22, 2016 #6 Posted March 22, 2016 Thanks for the ear worm Puc.........you're such a poet.
Godlover Posted March 22, 2016 Author #7 Posted March 22, 2016 Well, rode it home and what a great ride. Discover it has an airhorn. When I picked it up I didn't open the left saddle bag and for some reason the lid is on crooked and the latch is jammed! Ugh! When I look at the picture they sent me u can tell something is wrong.
eagleeye Posted March 23, 2016 #10 Posted March 23, 2016 Glad you had a good trip home. If push comes to shove, I can help you get the lid open. It does involve cutting the pin in the hinge though. I've done it and it is doable and fixable. Here is what the pin looks like inside of that hinge: Keep in mind, this hinge pin is tapered and you will NOT find it anywhere unless you get another bag assembly. Hopefully you won't need this info. but it you do you can get a hold of me.

cowpuc Posted March 23, 2016 #12 Posted March 23, 2016 Gorgeous scoot Godlover!! Sorry to hear about the bag. Wonder if there is anyway you can work the edge of the bag down enough to get the latch to unhook? Looks like it got sprung somehow. Did it come from a bike shop? If it did, maybe they would work with you on getting it repaired - never hurts to ask:fingers-crossed-emo Also glad you had a good ride home my friend! Puc

They just wanted their money out of it. I tried to get it back down but it is sprung someway. I'll call them tomorrow.
