Lug Nut Posted March 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2016 Got a 14k mile RSV with Ivans jet kit, K&N filters, and Barons Nasty Boys 4-2-4 exhaust. Feels fine and strong but seems to slip just a tad WPT going into 3rd. AM I at a power levelbtgatbtypicalky necessitates a Barnett spring conversion? Bert2006 Posted March 20, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2016 Probably, mine started slipping on full throttle in 4th and 5th, then gradually into all gears. Installed the Barnett spring conversion kit and kept the original plates. Now all slippage is gone. This at 50k miles.
Du-Rron Posted March 20, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2016 I got the @Skydoc kit and did not replace the half disk once was all said and done. I would say to do this when the bike comes off the showroom floor with zero miles on it.
Rick Haywood Posted March 21, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 21, 2016 When it starts to slip
crowrod Posted March 21, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 21, 2016 14k is not a lot of miles. I have 103000k on what I think is the original clutch, bought the bike with 49k miles. do you know the history of the bike has it ever been used for towing a trailer or camper or have you recently changed oil brands some oils will cause slipping. Lug Nut Posted March 21, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted March 21, 2016 I'll probably ride it some more and if I feel it slip under WOT more then I'll do the Barnett spring conversion
