I do not plan on using the intercom system on my RSV. I have the headset put aside and don't really like the black cables with pkug on the tank and under the passenger arm rest. Is it easy to remove, and what all is involved?

Thanks

I'm thinking just unhook it from radio behind fairing... but you'll lose cb voice communication and intercom..

Would I have to open up the fairing to do this? Also how did you lower your bike?

Answer to both questions is available in the 2nd gen tech section. Please don't think I'm being "stoopid" with my answer...it's just a ton easier to send you where there the answers are with detailed explanations and picture too...

Both are very easy to do if you read over the reports and ask questions if you need to. I've done both....easy peasy.

Yes you'll have to open fairing to unhook cables... or you could just hide them, and leave them hooked up... I've never thought them to be eyesore though... put front under plastic gas tank piece and rear under seat..

Guy named john put links together... if you want his info let me know.. think he's around $50 shipped.. no relocation kit... but I haven't had any issues.. plus the relocation kit is quite odd looking on the bike... he has a website but mine was a special project.. I think it's johnskits.com or something like that..

Thanks for the info and links. I don't want to mess with splitting the fairing now. I think I will jut leave them and tuck them out of the way and remove the black plastic holders that are held on by double sided tape.

Lowering the front end is a job. Not impossible, definitely worth it, but just takes time. Cheapest way to lower and improve handling. Sliding the forks up in the triple trees.

I removed everything on my RSMV except the main cable from front to rear and the cassette player. I had bought a blue tooth headset for my wife and I and we like it allot. Plus I was able to sell all the parts and buy more accessories. It cleaned up the bike allot and now I can use my tank bag on trips.
