Trader Posted March 9, 2016 #1 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) So I decided to change out the shift segment under the clutch basket because of slipping in 2nd. (my 88) I saw the clutch basket tool and in my infinite wisdom decided that it is nothing more than a steel clutch plate with a handle. So..I reasoned I could just use one of my old clutch plates along with a pair of vice grips and save myself $35 plus shipping. Might I say at this time .....DUH!!!! once again. The pressure of the "handle" against the outer clutch basket broke off one of the tabs....so now I have to get into my parts bike after all and use that one. The Parts bike is an 84....would the outter basket be the same part? PLEASE SAY YES...but only if you mean How do I remove the outer basket? Does it just come loose when I remove the inner basket or is there something more involved? Warm weather is coming and I'm not gaining any ground! Edited March 9, 2016 by Trader
