electr0ma Posted February 29, 2016 #1 Posted February 29, 2016 Hey guys just ran into some electrical issues with my 86 xvz1300 leaving me scratchin' my head...no power to the stereo deck so I checked fuses and everything was fine- then I wiggled around wires to the fuse panel to make sure nothing was loose but when I turned her back on to check if that worked, now I have no brake light/ blinkers and display readings / tach (neutral light). oddly though when the kick stand is DOWN and IN GEAR the display shows everything fine, but if I press the brake, blinker, shift to neutral or lift the stand display vanishes again..... thanks in advance for your knowledge!
electr0ma Posted February 29, 2016 Author #2 Posted February 29, 2016 Dug through some really old posts and solved the problem... cheers
Guest Jamsie Posted February 29, 2016 #4 Posted February 29, 2016 so why did you post a 1st gen prob in 2nd gen , this only bumps other posts down and some guys are waiting for answers to their problems
Freebird Posted February 29, 2016 #5 Posted February 29, 2016 LOL....hey....go easy on him. He is a new train member and probably did it by mistake. I'll move this thread.
MiCarl Posted February 29, 2016 #6 Posted February 29, 2016 so why did you post a 1st gen prob in 2nd gen , this only bumps other posts down and some guys are waiting for answers to their problems New, Trial Member. Probably doesn't know the different designations. Electr0ma - Your motorcycle is a first generation motorcycle.
Guest Jamsie Posted February 29, 2016 #7 Posted February 29, 2016 sorry if i was a bit abrupt , but i would like some advice on my POS which is firing on only 2 cylinders its either spend 25 quid on 2 new coils or 200 quid on a dyna300 getting bumped down the page doesnt help me 1 little bit especially by a first gen thread in 2nd gen tech talk
Freebird Posted February 29, 2016 #8 Posted February 29, 2016 It's OK but everybody makes mistakes and we try to be a bit kinder to new members around here. And I DID move the thread to the correct forum so now you are asking YOUR question in the wrong place. Shame on you.
Guest Jamsie Posted February 29, 2016 #9 Posted February 29, 2016 you know i wish i never bought this POS, 15 miles on it and its broke, doest handle stears like a barge , low power , low acceleration , no top end , the only thing it has got goin for it is that my wife who can only walk with the aide of walking sticks can get on it
Freebird Posted February 29, 2016 #10 Posted February 29, 2016 Don't give up my friend. There is obviously a problem and you will find it. Handling is fairly easy to improve. They are not crotch rockets but performance is generally pretty darn good. Take this back to the second gen tech talk area and I'm sure you will get some help. You will probably get some here but more there.
