Motel booking info for Freebirds Maintainence Day

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS OR BOOKING A ROOM!!!

 

I took the liberty of calling the Red Roof Inn in Elyria an I am in the process of getting a block discount for rooms for Freebirds Maintainence Day in June.

They are going to set up a block discount for the rooms. Price as of right now for a single queen bed will be $79.95 plus tax THIS MAY CHANGE. The more replies I get here saying you want a room will give me more leverage to possibly get them cheaper.

It will be up to you to call and make your reservation on your own using the group promo code.

 

I HAVE NOT YET RECIEVED THAT CODE. Once I do I will post an update here with the rest of the info.

Now, you maybe able to find something cheaper but the Red Roof Inn has a decent parking lot for the bikes and is rated higher stars than most of the other motels in the area. Feel free to look elsewhere.

I am doing this to help others who may not be sure where they would like to stay and it is always nice to stay with a group. I for one stayed at the Quality Inn and was not too happy with my stay. I will be staying at the Red Roof Inn regardless of the turnout.

 

If your interested in staying here just post it here so I can get an approximate head count.

I just went to there site and went through the booking and their rooms are listed for $144 per night. I will give them a call and see what they will do.

I got ahold of La Quinta in North Olmstead today. The woman who does the group booking only works Monday-Friday. She will call me tomorrow and I will see if they will beat the Red Roof price. Distance from Don's place is about 20 miles east. Red Roof in Elyria is about 19 miles North. I see that a lot of people have looked this thread over, but I am not getting any feedback. I am not looking for confirmations, just a yes or no if your interested. They need to know how many rooms we would want. The more rooms, the cheaper the price. But I need an odd ball count so I can relay this back to them.

I have a block at the Red Roof Inn in Elyria. $79 per night plus tax. I am trying to get something set up in North Olmstead in a nicer area. I will let everyone know within the next couple of days. Once the location is definite, I will post the block discount number and it will be up to each individual to book and pay for their room. I stayed at the Quality Inn last year and it was not worth what I paid and the area is kind of sketchy, hence my effort to find something better.

20 Room block. Available from Friday 6-10-16 thru 6-12-16. You DO NOT need to book both Friday and Saturday nights. Only for the night or nights that you require. The block is available for those nights.

Mixture of Standard 1 king and Standard 2 full.

All rooms are non-smoking.

$79.95 per night plus taxes

Hey I'm from Canada, so have to deal with Canadian dollars, so $80 works out to about $114 Canadian,,,, so I went on line to see how this all works out,,, lookie lookie,, went through Trivago and discovered that Days Inn, Elyria is offering a room @ C$74,,,, now what do I do??? that works out to $40 per night or $80 for the weekend,,, that's a chunk of cash!!

I know if the rating is the same I probably would. Not a lot of nice choices in Elyria. So I gave Red Roof the opportunity. I tried in North Olmstead but because I got virtually a lot hits on the thread but only 2 replies saying that they were interested, I could not get the rooms any cheaper. Had people actually replied and gave me a number I could have probably got them a bit cheaper, but no replies other than the two, so it is what it is. The rooms in North Olmstead for that weekend were $144 per night US and they came down to $99 per night and I knew nobody would go for that. As I had also stated, I personally did not like the Quality Inn or the immediate area within, hence one of the reasons I tried someplace else. As far as the exchange rate, I cannot do anything about that nor can I compete with sites like trivago, sorry.

Carl, I did not take it as a cut up. No worries there my friend. Honestly, I did not even think about the exchange rate. I never have to deal with it, so it never came to mind. Now I am not saying the Red Roof will be better than Quality Inn........but last year......I felt like I was sleeping in hooker juice...

And I'm not very patient. I have a few in the VR albums here under "Witches and Brooms" Thanks for your posts. I always enjoy reading them.

Any chance that the side car seat folds down into a sleeping position? I have always told Tip that I thought a side car with a folding seat that would allow for sleeping inside the car would be wayyyy cool.. Have yet to ever see one. Either way MJ - THAT is AWESOME!!

Concerning the loading the pics problem, IMHO - most of those problems have something to do with picture size. I have personally found that if I set my cheapy camera on 480x680 ("economy size") they load here with no problem.. I will have to go looking for "Witches and Brooms" now,, see if I can find that some more pics of that PURDY scoot of yours!!

 

Oh yea, I remember MD real well,, what a BLAST! It wasn't me though that was doing all the story telling,,, it was a bunch of other people picking on me - trying to get me into trouble.. If I was :Im not listening toI was just defending myself...
