Doug royal86 Posted February 13, 2016 #1 Posted February 13, 2016 Just wondering if anyone has seen a mic for a 86 venture for sale any where.
bongobobny Posted February 13, 2016 #2 Posted February 13, 2016 Most of us use either J&M or Edset intercom sets...
djh3 Posted February 13, 2016 #3 Posted February 13, 2016 If I look around I might find the J&M headsets I had before changing out to Sena
videoarizona Posted February 13, 2016 #4 Posted February 13, 2016 There are some inexpensive wired mics out in web land. Some with headsets too. Just make sure they end in standard 5pin DIN plug....You can use an old style computer keyboard cable for an extension if needed.
Doug royal86 Posted February 13, 2016 Author #5 Posted February 13, 2016 Thanks Im trying to make all parts functional on my bike.I may not use it much but think it would be nice to have all the parts. My son found a helmet on ebay with the venture logo. The color is real close to my bike. (I suggested it for a Christmas present and got it)
Chaharly Posted February 14, 2016 #6 Posted February 14, 2016 They make one for about 80 bucks that you can wear without any helmet. Just sits on your ears. Speakers and a mic, and I even think that if you don't like wearing them without a helmet, you can probably just dissemble the frame and mount them to your helmet. Don't know for sure though:fingers-crossed-emo

Don't know for sure though Yep..CJ has the idea! That's what my buddy has but he got the version that has 7 pins for his HD Ultra. He can take his apart and put in helmet if he wanted. He only paid $30 for the ears, mic and cable. Don't know where he got it though.../
Doug royal86 Posted February 14, 2016 Author #9 Posted February 14, 2016 Im trying to make it original. Not so much to use. Might use the cb a time or two.
videoarizona Posted February 14, 2016 #10 Posted February 14, 2016 (Im trying to make it original.) Hmm...well only place to find that is probably eBay. I've never seen a Yamaha headset, though do know they were available for quite a few years. Hopefully, someone has one tucked away somewhere... You could get the model number from older posts/ads that show some of the accessories available for the Venture Royale, then call some oldtime dealers around country and see if anyone might have one collecting dust on the shelf...
bongobobny Posted February 14, 2016 #11 Posted February 14, 2016 Yah!! I remember once in a great while one of those showing up on Fleabay...
Prairiehammer Posted February 15, 2016 #12 Posted February 15, 2016 Just wondering if anyone has seen a mic for a 86 venture for sale any where. All First Gen Ventures enjoyed the same microphone/headsets made by J&M, sold by Yamaha as Part Number 26H-W0774-00 for full face helmets or 26H-W0773-00 for open face helmets. Here is one for full face helmet, complete with installation booklet. Seems a bit pricey even for NOS. And the foam has degraded. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Full-Face-CB-Headset-XVZ1200-XVZ12-Venture-Royale-26H-W0774-00-/121832931912
Doug royal86 Posted February 16, 2016 Author #13 Posted February 16, 2016 Thanks ,you are right a little high for the shape its in
Pegasus1300 Posted February 17, 2016 #14 Posted February 17, 2016 I would contact Sierra Electronics. They have the headsets, both from J&M and others and their prices are good. www.sierra-mc.com they can also repair your unit if you need it and they can put an aux cable in it so you can run your mp3,satellite radio or whatever thru the radio.
Great White Posted February 21, 2016 #15 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) came off my 86 parts bike: http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r618/justonepict/4763FBC0-3D8E-4BF9-B6E0-A840B4EE1D38_zpskound3zf.jpg Yours for the price and wait for shipping if you want it. No idea if it works or not. I gutted the CB/intercom from the harness so it's useless to me. I use a Sena SMH-10 linked to my iphone. If you feel like paying something for it buy me a nice cigar and call it even. Edited February 21, 2016 by Great White

Great White Posted February 22, 2016 #19 Posted February 22, 2016 cool. gimme a couple days to see what it will cost.
Great White Posted February 25, 2016 #20 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) So here's your options: Small packet - 12 bucks - ETD - could be couple weeks. No insurance or tracking that I know of. Xpress post USA - 33 bucks - 5 business days - guaranteed delivery Expedited USA - 20 bucks - 6 business days Tracked packet - 18 bucks - 7 business days. It just gets stupid expensive from there. Don't worry about the cigar. Too expensive to get something nice. If you want you can chuck 10 bucks in and that will let me buy an electrical harness I need for a regulator/rectifier swap to a series reg on my bike. Edited February 25, 2016 by Great White

Doug royal86 Posted March 7, 2016 Author #24 Posted March 7, 2016 I got my mic and headphones today. They work great but not sure if it works on the CB. but I mounted it to my 1986 venture helmet. When I get it out on the highway I will see if the CB works.
bongobobny Posted March 8, 2016 #25 Posted March 8, 2016 If it works on the intercom and the radio, it should work with the CB, it goes through the same common interface box...
