starter motor extra ground wire comments ? pic

Hi,

Since I have the bike almost in parts I decided to make an extra ground wire.

The bike is 1984 and starter motor two brush.

I was hoping to get bigger wire through but was unable to fit it nicely inside.

It ran nicely on the bench but since no deeper understanding of electronics I thought I check this with you.

How big a risk is this wire to burn or overheat during cranking ? if any ?

make it shorter ?

remove insulation ?

ps. my next question will be about the starter gears. They fell off when removing the stator cover
