Mcolabella Posted February 2, 2016 #1 Posted February 2, 2016 I was looking tat the tape deck and radio set up. and thought, why not wire in an regular stereo using the plugs that are already there, has anyone done this would love to see some photos, and they would be helpful would
videoarizona Posted February 2, 2016 #2 Posted February 2, 2016 Lots of people have played around with that. Search the older posts. One problem that is easy to solve is the tape deck is tied into the amp system and if unplugged, the system must be jumpered so the amp thinks the deck is still around. Remember though that the intercom, CB, radio tuner and tape deck all use the same amplifier. So it is probably easier to simply remove them all and go bluetooth on helmet and add a separate tuner/amp tied into stock speakers. With bluetooth you have everything (except the cassette deck) and add the ability to talk to other riders with bluetooth.
Larry1963 Posted February 2, 2016 #3 Posted February 2, 2016 I was looking at the 6 disk CD changer and thinking if there was a way to remove it and wife in a MP-3 player.
Mcolabella Posted February 3, 2016 Author #4 Posted February 3, 2016 This may be a stupid question, but how do search the articles
920shrek1 Posted February 3, 2016 #5 Posted February 3, 2016 If you go to the top of this page in the righthand side there is a little white box and to the right of it says search tap on the little box and tye in what your looking for.

Mcolabella Posted February 3, 2016 Author #7 Posted February 3, 2016 So if anyone reads this part, is there a pin out for the plugs that are on the back of the radio/cassette pull out to the ones they plug into in the compartment, my thoughts are plug into them and pick the power and speaker leads from there
videoarizona Posted February 3, 2016 #8 Posted February 3, 2016 Mark, there is a pin out for the tape unit....don't know if that exists for the rest of the system. But go to the 1st gen venture tech talk section...read only...and search there. Should be the schematics and wiring diagrams for the scoot. BTW, do highly recommend you pay the $12/year and join up. And fill in your profile so we know more about you and your bike. Best bux you've ever spent will be right here. Lots of good folks...ready to help... david
mralex714 Posted February 7, 2016 #9 Posted February 7, 2016 I was looking at the 6 disk CD changer and thinking if there was a way to remove it and wife in a MP-3 player. If you have a 2nd Gen there was an Ipod kit from Yamaha. I used to see them on eBay.
Larry1963 Posted February 8, 2016 #10 Posted February 8, 2016 http://venturemp3.com/ Is anyone using this
Larry1963 Posted February 8, 2016 #11 Posted February 8, 2016 If you have a 2nd Gen there was an Ipod kit from Yamaha. I used to see them on eBay. Is this what you are talking about it is kind of expensive
bongobobny Posted February 8, 2016 #12 Posted February 8, 2016 I remember those adapters being discussed a while ago here on the forum. The quickest easiest way to add IPod is to mount your IPod somewhere and then wire it into the AUX jack on the cassette deck or split your fairing and install a stereo headphone "Y" adapter where the AUX line plugs into the Amplifier head unit...
Larry1963 Posted February 8, 2016 #13 Posted February 8, 2016 I was reading past history on this subject. It seemed to me some of the 2011 people were talking that the CD changer was no longer being made and Yamaha had offered an iPod shuffle with and adapter for the CD changer. I could care less, about cassette deck, why Yamaha left it in I do not know. What would be nice is to upgrade the CD player to an MP-3 player. Or to install a XM radio in place of the CD player. If someone got a pin layout, you would think with all the brain power we have in here we could make, and possibly manufacture a cable to adapt to this.

Most people edit their profile to reflect that. In this thread you have received a lot of confusing information that does not apply to your machine. The pictures have been added back to this thread that is a tutorial for removing the cassette deck and wiring a toggle switch that enables either MC radio or Phone, MP3 player, etc. for listening. To go one step further you can get a little Bluetooth receiver dongle that you plug the audio jack you would wire up in the linked thread and then you can just connect your phone over BT to play through bike's amplifier and into speakers or intercom. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?84328-Audio-I-have-an-idea-what-s-wrong-how-do-I-fix-it I have another thread that I think you found that details how to remove the built-in radio head and replace it with a small BT/Radio/USB/Line In device that has it's own amp. I preserved the bike amp and the volume knob and the noise sensitive amplifier boost to use with the PRV175 device because I like those features. Maybe we can get the pics restored to that thread soon so that you can see the whole picture.
