920shrek1 Posted January 31, 2016 #1 Posted January 31, 2016 Been having issues with the fuel mileage the last 2 years on my 86 venture I have replaced the carbs last year with a set that was totaly rebuilt did the valve shims and had the carbs snyed. went thru the brakes no drag so this year going thru the ignition system.I checked coils primary and secondary primary were all at 3.3 ohms secondary was 12.77-13.03, wires were at.6 ohms, caps were at8.77-10.36. Pick up coil was at115.1-118.6 ohms. Now the pessure sensor was at 5.5 volts the manual spec says it should be at ABOUT 2.0 volts is this my problem do I need to replace it? Next I'm looking at replacing the TCI.Any more suggestion thanks for your help. Oh my mpg is around 30mpg +/- 2 +on a good day - on most of the others
KISA Posted February 1, 2016 #2 Posted February 1, 2016 Replace. At me the faulty sensor showed 12 volts) The new sensor with an atmospheric pressure shows 2,2 volts.
GeorgeS Posted February 1, 2016 #3 Posted February 1, 2016 Check the rubber boot on the sensor electrical plug. Might have water and crude in it.
