Motorcycle Mike Posted January 30, 2016 #1 Posted January 30, 2016 That's right, I quit! Don't bother trying to talk me out of it. My mind is made up! I don't care what anybody says, I'm not going to do it anymore! 29 years at the same job is enough. I've turned in my company badge, keys, uniforms and city I.D. Logged off the company e-mail for the last time. SS payments will commence in the middle of the month an my pension checks start arriving at the end of the month. I'm a little nervous and a whole lot excited.
JDaniel Posted January 30, 2016 #3 Posted January 30, 2016 It's about time you joined the ranks of the retired. Congratulations!
Flyinfool Posted January 30, 2016 #4 Posted January 30, 2016 Nice Job. Am I the only one left working to support all you retired folks??????????????????

slowrollwv Posted January 30, 2016 #8 Posted January 30, 2016 `Congrats Mike. I wanted to do that very same thing in May but the wife lost her job so that put a hold on my retirement for at least 2 more years.
eagleeye Posted January 31, 2016 #10 Posted January 31, 2016 It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it. Now go out there and have some fun! The fool will keep working to support us .
uncledj Posted January 31, 2016 #11 Posted January 31, 2016 WOW !!! Good for you....Congrats. I'm SOOOO jealous. 13 years to go. Hope I can make it. The ladders, toolbags and motors that I'm taking up on roofs seem to be getting heavier every year. sigh.....

Leftcoaster Posted January 31, 2016 #13 Posted January 31, 2016 Awesome! Been there...done that...and highly recommend it to all those in the position to do it. I love waking up to my OWN alarm clock...not someone else's. Good luck!
steamer Posted January 31, 2016 #14 Posted January 31, 2016 I wanna do that! Sick and tired of this working thing!
rbig1 Posted January 31, 2016 #15 Posted January 31, 2016 A word of advice. Don't over do it when you retire. Do a little at a time on home projects. Takes longer to recover from overdoing it. Trust me. CONGRATS
Yammer Dan Posted January 31, 2016 #16 Posted January 31, 2016 Congrats!! In about 2 or 3 months you will begin to wonder how you ever found time to work!!!

How about if I WORK at riding more? `Congrats Mike. I wanted to do that very same thing in May but the wife lost her job so that put a hold on my retirement for at least 2 more years. That blows. I know too many people who have lost there job's in the last 7 years. The good news is 2 years go by real fast.
WildBill1 Posted January 31, 2016 #19 Posted January 31, 2016 You really need to think this decision over no more vacation or sick days too reward yourself just 7 days a week doing whatever you choose. What a life, been that way since 2010 not a rookie retire anymore congrats.
