SilvrT Posted January 28, 2016 #1 Posted January 28, 2016 This looks like something worth having. A mirror that goes over your existing mirror with a display screen and video cam that starts up automatically when you start the car. It has a couple of safety features too besides recording any incident that may happen. It records on a loop like home security systems so you don't have to fiddle with it every so often to erase a flash drive so you can record again. Basically install it and forget it unless you want to retrieve the video. It has a microphone so you could leave the key on and let it continue to record during a traffic stop or some altercation so there's evidence rather than a he said she said type thing. Price: $95. HP F720 Rearview Mirror Mount Dash Camera Convert your rear view mirror into a 21st century device with the HP Car Camcorder f720 mounted in your vehicle. The f720 is designed to fit over many existing rear view mirrors in seconds without having to hang another device to the windshield. This advanced Super HD 1296p camcorder with an ultra-wide angle lens records your trip in amazing detail. The included car power adapter has a long cord for easy installation and assures the f720 is always ready. When you start the car, the f720 automatically starts recording video with no need to push any button. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) The f720 comes loaded with ADAS features such as Lane Departure Warning System (LWDS), Driver Fatigue Alert, and Low Light Warning System. It will be important to review the User Manual for further details on how to enable and utilize these features. It is important to note that these features are for reference only and will not control your vehicle to prevent accidents. Built-in, 3-Axis G-Force and motion sensor No one expects to get into a driving accident, but when it happens, the built-in G-force sensor can detect these events and trigger Emergency Video Recording mode. These emergency recordings are date and time-stamped as well as protected from loop recording overwrites. http://flash.newegg.com/product/9SIA08C3DZ3216?utm_source=NEEmail012816&utm_medium=Index&utm_campaign=HP&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=IGNEFL012816&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL012816-_-EMC-012816-Index-_-MECH-_-HP-EB1D&et_cid=24448&et_rid=510069&et_p1=&email64=bmV0Ym9iOTI4QGdtYWlsLmNvbQ==

To record an incident and recover you would have to turn it off mid-incident or it would be lost. The solution might be a 32 gig micro card but I'll bet the unit wouldn't support a larger card. good idea tho -

This is how my Mobius works.
Freebird Posted January 29, 2016 #5 Posted January 29, 2016 I almost like it. What I need though is something with blind spot monitors. That's my biggest issue as I travel every day. Being blind in my right eye makes it hard for me to take a good look to the right. I've looked into them but all require drilling body panels and etc. I was sure that I could find something that just attaches to the side mirrors but no luck so far. My wife's Murano has then from the factory and it's a great feature.

Freebird Posted January 29, 2016 #7 Posted January 29, 2016 She has nothing to do with it. This is a company car.
