When I had my service station in Greenville PA., back in the 70's, I remember walking down the road carrying a sign that said: LAST CAR SERVED...I was only allowed to sell 3,000 gallons of gas a day and as I walked passed all the cars waiting in line to get gas, I would "guestimate" how many cars I could let in / up to the pumps. Once I put that sign on the back of a car all "H" would start with the next driver in line yelling and wanting to kick my butt because he sat in line for an hour already.. Rationing the gas was a pain in the Ash..

Under 50 cents per gallon at some stations due to a price war. Did any of our Michigan riders get in on this? :)

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/01/18/gas-prices-fall-below-1-in-michigan.html?intcmp=hplnws

Nope Don, Houghton Lake is north and center state of us. It is where we had our first Greet - Meet n Eat Meat Hot Dog special last year though - just a little to cold to drift up that way other wise I might have ran up there, filled the bike up and gobbled a Dog or two!!:big-grin-emoticon: We are still at $1.73 here, how's prices down in the land of Pond Monsters, raffle tickets and free camping?

During a gas war in Colorado in 1970 I bought gas for 11 cents a gallon. Anybody beat that?? 1.89 here now.

Close,, I remember pumping "200" for .17 a gallon at our home town Sunoco during our gas wars back in the late 60's.. That sweet smelling "260" was still close to 30 cents a gallon,, :scratchchin: the price difference had no affect on the Goats, Super Bee's, Chevelles and Stang's appetite's to feed on the stuff though :witch_brew::guitarist 2::happy65:

LOL..you know what...I'm not even sure how much it is here. Just under 2.00 I think. I seldom even look, just fill it up and go. Nothing I can do about it anyway.

I hear that brother.. It is interesting though from a Michigander stand point.. For years our prices here were considerably higher than you folks were paying, seconded only by California prices.. We were always told it was because of special fuel additives required in Michigan.. Last couple years it seems like that has not been the case, wonder if they ran out of additives and now we are buying non-special gas like you Buckeye's have been burning for years.. :big-grin-emoticon:

Lowest gas price in the Sacramento/Auburn CA area runs at $2.25 p/gal and in So-Cal its around $2.65.

The state is also looking to add another 6 cents p/gal tax and another $65.00 p/yr to every vehicle registration.

Got to find another place to live, maybe head toward Puc's for lots of hog dogs, chips, and lower gas prices.

Like Mr. Z said, I filled up last night at $2.39 per gallon. The California Gov has his head stuck in a very dark place, and is holding the people hostage. Special additives my a$$. :moon:

Presidential election year. Incumbents will do what they can to keep it low 'till after the election. Shouldn't even hurt too much to take the motorhome out this year. :superman:

I am just a snowball throw away from there on the other side of the pond and gas is pushing back UP to the $2.00 mark.

But we have great ice cream and home of Klements and Johnsonville sausages.

I am in South GA I think gas went up here. I needed gas the cheapest I could find it was 1.79 a gallon. It was around 1.62 the other day.

I guess new taxes starting to come in. Need to pay for someone AC office.
