Fast Blinking

(04 Mid-Night Venture) I road to work yesterday and noticed the left turn signal was blinking fast. Got to work and looked at the front and rear bulbs as they were blinking. Both lights were blinking but at a fast pace. The right turn was normal. On the way home from work I noticed the right side started blinking fast also. I got home and checked out the right side and it had gone back to normal but left side is still blinking fast. What do you think? Ground wire?

hhhmmm not sure that normally means there is a light out...I would check all your grounds just to make sure... I bet some one on here will have the answer...good luck!!

That's what I have always found it to be was a bulb out. Not this time.

Clean the connections where the bulbs fit in,(socket) they are bad about getting water in there and corroding causing a bad connection.I stopped mine from collecting water by drilling a small hole on the bottom of the lens.

That is where I would start. Also you could put some dielectric grease on the bottom of the bulbs. If you don't already have it, most auto parts stores have it at the counter in small packets. Every time I buy a bulb they try and sell me a pack for a buck. They also sell it in small tubes.

Just move the Switch from left to right a few Times before starting to tear everything apart.

 

 

Might be a corroded Contact in the Switch, if your on it the next Weeks, clean the Contacts inside the Handlebar Switch. My Bikes does this on the Beginning of riding Season.

My left front likes to collect water, when it gets up to the connector strange things begin to occur.

The Ground is always something good to check.

Well I took all the bulbs out and cleaned and put the dielectric grease on everything. There was a lot of rust starting to form where ever it could. All the bulbs work when I put back together but now both sides blink fast all the time. At least they are blinking. I will try and track it down as to the problem when I have more time on a rainy week-end. I will try the switch cleaning also.

I had water collecting in my front signal on my 03. To solve the problem I drilled a small hole in the bottom of all the plastic signal caps, as close to the rubber seal as possible,this allows the water that does collect to run out again.

Bulbs are fairly cheap,since all the rust,buy some new ones and I bet it solves the problem..Be sure and have blinker on if it does not and wiggle the bulbs in socket,I had to replace a whole unit once.

On my old VW Bug and my older Chevy pickup when that started happening on the turn signals it was because the relay was gettin' ready to burn out. They should be pretty cheap too...

Try spraying the plug on the Flasher Unit with contact cleaner.
