XV1100SE Posted December 31, 2015 #1 Posted December 31, 2015 How long would a jug of apple pie keep? Have two glass jugs in the cold room (dark, cool) that were made in July of this year. Would it still be good?
uncledj Posted December 31, 2015 #2 Posted December 31, 2015 Heck yeah. I just finished off a couple of quarts that had been sitting in the pantry since early June. Might wanna shake it up a bit first.
Flyinfool Posted December 31, 2015 #3 Posted December 31, 2015 How do you get Apple Pie to last that long. Mine always seems to go away in a much shorter time frame than that....... I seem to have the same issue with my Rum Balls.
ragtop69gs Posted December 31, 2015 #4 Posted December 31, 2015 I buy 5 gallons, once a year and in my opinion the longer they age the better Got 1 chillin right now
slowrollwv Posted December 31, 2015 #5 Posted December 31, 2015 One of the guys I work with gave me a quart Christmas eve and it did not last the night.

Happy New Year ...and I haven't forgotten that you want the recipe Nancy used.....it's coming.....next year !!!! I'll ask her when she gets back to write it out so we can give it to you at the dinner in Burlington.
saddlebum Posted January 1, 2016 #9 Posted January 1, 2016 Let me get this straight........You have been sitting on this stuff since July:backinmyday:and your only just letting us know about it now..
ReinyRooster Posted January 2, 2016 #10 Posted January 2, 2016 Guess I shouldn't mention the two quart jugs full that I have sitting out in the garage then......
GAWildKat Posted January 2, 2016 #12 Posted January 2, 2016 Guess it's a good thing that I live too far away AND am on meds that keep me alcohol free for another month. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
shuttlebug Posted January 2, 2016 #13 Posted January 2, 2016 We have some that Debbie made about 20 years ago we got it out for Christmas and it was still good! Not as flavorful as it was 20 years ago, but still tasted good.
XV1100SE Posted January 3, 2016 Author #15 Posted January 3, 2016 Would I hold out? I'd have to say....it gets better and smoother with age !
stickhandle2 Posted January 3, 2016 #16 Posted January 3, 2016 well may as well add to it, we still have a couple jugs that Tammie made up from before Christmas 2014, sitting at the back of the fridge. It is almost time to crack them open. It is true the pie does get better with age. Mike
Condor Posted January 3, 2016 #17 Posted January 3, 2016 My daughter and her hubby gave me some when we visited for Christmas. First time I've tasted the stuff. It was great, but a little bit goes along way with me. I buy an 8 pack of beer and it lasts damn near the whole year. Plus I found that beer helps in causing gout, and I don't need any help in that department.... So for those of you that can guzzle the 'Pie', more power to you. I'm a cheep drunk...
Freebird Posted January 3, 2016 #18 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm with you Condor. I came across a quart in the refrigerator that has been here since Maintenance Day last May. It is good but I'm not a big drinker. I have beer in the refrigerator that was left here by my wife's nephew over a year ago. I think it's Busch or something. I like a cold beer from time to time but it has to be a brand that I like.
chabicheka Posted January 3, 2016 #19 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) Let the cat have a slurp....if its still sitting on the window sill next morning, I would assume its still good. Edited January 4, 2016 by chabicheka spell
Flyinfool Posted January 3, 2016 #20 Posted January 3, 2016 Let the cat have a slurp....if its still sitting on the window seal next morning, I would assume its still good. And if it is really good the cat will still be sleeping the next morning.
