mirider Posted December 31, 2015 #1 Posted December 31, 2015 With the recent firing-up of @Flyinfool 's machine, there was some collateral damage in @cowpuc 's home base as the WWII LST 393 suffered some damage from the storm on 12/28 per the attached report: http://www.wzzm13.com/story/news/2015/12/29/high-wind-lst-ship-muskegon/78041800/. I know fool's been claiming innocence as he is laid low by an injury, but that storm on monday was a doozie !!
Flyinfool Posted December 31, 2015 #2 Posted December 31, 2015 I guess they needed stronger string to tie it to the dock.......
mraf Posted December 31, 2015 #3 Posted December 31, 2015 Thanks for the post. I never knew there was a WW2 LST so close. My father was a radioman on one of these for the wars duration. He didn't talk much about his war time experience. Other than being at the D-Day landing. His ship was used as a Hospital ship after it. It shuttled back and forth between the coasts for days afterwards. I've always wanted to visit one to see how he had to live during his time served.
