Yammer Dan Posted December 17, 2015 #2 Posted December 17, 2015 Star Wars was one of those that came out when I was busy doing something or other. I thought I'll catch it a little later. Then came ll then lll then I started thinking I got to watch 1 first. What was one?? I never made it.... there was a convict making noise and I......
BratmanXj Posted December 17, 2015 #3 Posted December 17, 2015 The Ural one... http://imz-ural.com/dark-force.html
Eck Posted December 17, 2015 #4 Posted December 17, 2015 When star wars came out I was working so many hours I only wanted to shower and sleep when I got home. Didn't watch much TV at all for several years. Hear others at work talking about Star Wars and other programs / movies out there but really never had much time to watch any of them. As time went on I never got interested in them. Sorry Puc, wish I could share the joy of this series, but I had some ex wanting me to provide for her, her new hubby and their new house & car while this was all going on..
BlueSky Posted December 17, 2015 #5 Posted December 17, 2015 I've never watched the Star Wars movies either. Several years ago, my son bought a set of the first 3 on VHS for me to watch and I never got around to it. Watching them is on my list and getting closer to the top of the list. Soon! Hey, with retirement comes time to do stuff like that:dancefool:
mirider Posted December 17, 2015 #6 Posted December 17, 2015 LOVE the Star Wars series of movies, own the whole set on DVD, and watch them often with grandkids. Will wait til the hub-bub dies down to see the new one but understand it's better than the last three (I,II,&III). Funny story: When the first movie came out back in the 70's , a friend I worked with said they had opened a new "dinner theater" in the small town of Hastings, Michigan and the first feature was Star Wars. Asked if we'd like to double with the wives, take in dinner and a movie. Envisioning the "dinner theater" to be an upscale experience, the women bought new dresses and all four of us dolled up for the occasion. Long story short, the "dinner theater" was nothing more than the old movie house with a micro-wave box lunch. At least we were the best dressed patrons at the movie.
saddlebum Posted December 17, 2015 #7 Posted December 17, 2015 I have watched the original three/trilogy, but when I heard the new one is episode 7, I got to my head. How did it go from 3 to 7 . So I got on google and investigated . Now as I understand it , The three original episodes I, II & III have been bumped to IV, V & VI, as they have created three so called prequels and named them episodes I, II & III which I have never seen and now they leap frogged and created episode VII . So does that mean I gotta go back and watch from the beginning again just so I will be able to understand what is going on in episode VII . On another note my grandchildren have never seen any of them and since between my wife, her sister and my daughter they own three Shih Tzu dogs, it will be interesting to see what my grand childrens reaction will be towards the Ewoks.
mirider Posted December 17, 2015 #8 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Yeah, it can be confusing but actually, the first movie was always episode IV. [emoji106]🏻 Edited December 17, 2015 by mirider
Karaboo Posted December 17, 2015 #9 Posted December 17, 2015 My daughter is taking my wife and I to see it on Friday. I hate the crowds, but it is my daughter's Christmas present for us.
cowpuc Posted December 17, 2015 Author #10 Posted December 17, 2015 Yea that George Lucas is a genius,, part 4 was actually the first one released back in the late 70's - was not moved around in sequence like lots of folks think, it was actually clearly marked right at the beginning as such. Then 5 and 6 came out, than not long ago part 1 came out and now we have 1 thru 6 and 7 is on its way. Like most folks on here, I was never much of a Movie or TV watcher (to many other things to do) but I was always attracted to Star Wars,, ok,, and Star Trek,, and spaghetti Westerns (I LOVED Trinity!) and Hogan's Hero's, and The Stooges,, think I watched more TV than I remember watching For all you live long Star Wars varmints,,, WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO PRINCESS LEIA (Carrie Fisher)? And Tip and I saw a quick shot of Mark Hamill (Luke) last night on the news - WOW, didnt even recognize either one of them - did we all get old or something:doh: Sure am glad I aint change that much:stickpoke:
mirider Posted December 17, 2015 #11 Posted December 17, 2015 One thing I know for sure.....Carrie Fisher can no longer wear the Jabba the Hut slave costume [emoji33]
BlueSky Posted December 17, 2015 #12 Posted December 17, 2015 Carrie fisher as well as getting older had a serious drug problem. I think that is what ended her marriage to Paul Simon.
Goose68 Posted December 17, 2015 #13 Posted December 17, 2015 I can remember being a young boy going to the drive in to see a double feature Star Wars and Dirty Harry. I left that night thinking Clint Eastwood had to be the coolest guy to ever walk the face of the earth. Just wondered why I had to watch that silly Star wars 1st lol.
saddlebum Posted December 18, 2015 #14 Posted December 18, 2015 - Sure am glad I aint change that much:stickpoke: @cowpuc you mean to say you was born old . No wonder you and @Marcarl have so much in common
cowpuc Posted December 19, 2015 Author #15 Posted December 19, 2015 @cowpuc you mean to say you was born old . No wonder you and @Marcarl have so much in common Yea but not as old as Carl :rotfl::rotfl::rotf:and we were BOTH born with the screws that control the movement on our jaws drawn a little tighter than some lop eared varmints around here:Im not listening to:big-grin-emoticon:
M61A1MECH Posted December 19, 2015 #16 Posted December 19, 2015 So I heard that there is now a new holiday on the calendar. Star Wars Day. When is it you ask? it is on 4 May. Why you ask? Well because we all know the Star Wars tag line is........ "May the Fourth be with you"
Karaboo Posted December 19, 2015 #17 Posted December 19, 2015 Saw the movie tonight. Not bad. They re-introduce one of the original characters (or props) every 20 minutes. Still pretty good.
cowpuc Posted December 19, 2015 Author #18 Posted December 19, 2015 Saw the movie tonight. Not bad. They re-introduce one of the original characters (or props) every 20 minutes. Still pretty good. THANKS Karaboo!! So Boo,, in your opinion how did it stack up compared to the other episodes? Is this one your new favorite or did it not quite make the cut?
Karaboo Posted December 19, 2015 #19 Posted December 19, 2015 Well Puc, I think it moves along with a good story line much like the original 3 did (IV thru VI). This one ended with obvious setups of more to come. It will definitely go on my shelf with the rest when it comes out on Blu-ray. Go see it!
Condor Posted December 19, 2015 #20 Posted December 19, 2015 Is there a lop eared varmint in Star Wars VII?? I wanna see a pic of one.....
cowpuc Posted December 19, 2015 Author #21 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Is there a lop eared varmint in Star Wars VII?? I wanna see a pic of one..... Havent seen the movie yet so I cant say but here is a pic of one of my favorite famous lop eared varmints chasing down a Syth Lord who is attempting to escape on an orange Harley - good luck with that ya lop eared varmint Syth).. Also included a pic of Tippy interviewing that same lop eared varmint after the Syth was caught - also notice her telling the lop eared varmint how surprised she was that her non-varmint knight in shining armor husband and the lop eared varmint she is speaking to could eat a gravy covered plate of french fries as big as the circle she is making with her hands - the look of "nahhhh" on his lop eared face is priceless!! Hope this suffices until I get a chance to see the new Stars Wars and return with a full report of any lop eared varmints therein.. Edited December 19, 2015 by cowpuc discovered a clitch in matrix, noticed I had typed "the" twice in a row! Never could stand those clitches!!
Condor Posted December 20, 2015 #22 Posted December 20, 2015 He does look a little lop eared, but what's he doing riding a Star Trek scoot??
The Tooch Posted December 22, 2015 #23 Posted December 22, 2015 Kind of like this......Dodge Charger Strom Trooper Edition
