tufftom4 Posted December 12, 2015 #1 Posted December 12, 2015 I always wanted a volt meter on my bike so searching I found that Battery Tender has one that plugs in the pig tail that goes to the battery so I bought it and it works great tells you voltage while running or sitting, I am going to velcro it to the plastic that covers the center of the handle bars so I can see the volts while running.
bostonlawman2003 Posted December 13, 2015 #3 Posted December 13, 2015 Would love to see some pics of this meter, installing one is on the list of things to do this winter
rougeray Posted December 13, 2015 #4 Posted December 13, 2015 Yeah, give us a picture. I would be interested in having a volt meter. Thanks.

Bert2006 Posted December 14, 2015 #7 Posted December 14, 2015 I have that unit and I would be weary of it draining battery on the long term if installed permanently. It is not waterproof either. I use it as a diagnostic tool to check the condition of the battery with bike off, then start her up to see how its charging.

Leland Posted December 15, 2015 #9 Posted December 15, 2015 A little more money, but a nice meter. http://kosonorthamerica.com/product/super-slim-style-volt/
eagleeye Posted December 15, 2015 #10 Posted December 15, 2015 This is the voltmeter that I'm putting on my vstrom. And my buddy has a bunch of bikes and he just ordered a dozen of them and they are going on all of his bikes. I think around $4.
garyS-NJ Posted December 15, 2015 #11 Posted December 15, 2015 I bought a cheap little Chinese dvm for my buddies boat and it's off about 0.5v. Also blue digits at night affects night vision. Get red digits. And I'd have it connected to ignition voltage when you turn the bike on... you can always probe the battery too. Lastly it won't accurately show battery voltage while cranking starter like an analog meter will do.
