dogman Posted December 2, 2015 #27 Posted December 2, 2015 The second weekend July 9th would work for us, but after that we will be going on a 3 week ride out east.

Barrycuda Posted December 3, 2015 #29 Posted December 3, 2015 I would be interested. Depending on what location and when. I'm not retired like some of y'all and I have to space my time. Plus I a, definitely going to the IR in WV so, if I can go, I'm there ...
Semi-retired Posted December 3, 2015 #30 Posted December 3, 2015 get it now, there is a wait period of up to 3 months right now ( Passports ) Really? This page says 4-6 weeks. (http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/information/processing-times.html) Or, 8 business days if you pay the extra 60 bucks!
Yammer Dan Posted December 3, 2015 #31 Posted December 3, 2015 I am not making ANY plans cause every time I do something happens to make them fall thru.. This time I am not saying ANYTHING and hope we get to go!!!! :dancefool::dancefool: I...I...never mind!!
XV1100SE Posted December 3, 2015 Author #33 Posted December 3, 2015 Unless there are any objections....I'm going to go with July 7th to 10th. Location to be determined but I'll put that time into the calendar as a placeholder
CaptainJoe Posted December 3, 2015 #34 Posted December 3, 2015 I'm not going to be able to make it as that is the 4th of July week.
Prairiehammer Posted December 3, 2015 #35 Posted December 3, 2015 Unless there are any objections....I'm going to go with July 7th to 10th. Location to be determined but I'll put that time into the calendar as a placeholder I will be in Colorado then. Sorry to miss the Canucks.
XV1100SE Posted December 3, 2015 Author #36 Posted December 3, 2015 I'm not going to be able to make it as that is the 4th of July week. Isn't the 4th of July on the 4th of July? The long weekend would be the previous weekend as the 4th of July is the Monday. The 7th of July is a Thursday.

CaptainJoe Posted December 3, 2015 #38 Posted December 3, 2015 People in the states take the entire July 4th week off. That way they get 9 days off and only have to burn 4 days. As I've got a campground that's my absolute busiest time of year. The better half would kill me if I left then... That and I went to Colorado a few years back and had a very hard time finding campsites the weekend following 4th. believe I found one around 11 pm?

XV1100SE Posted December 5, 2015 Author #40 Posted December 5, 2015 If you want to start signing up for the event, here is the event dates in the calendar. Location and further info to follow. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=462&day=2016-7-7&c=1
uncledj Posted December 5, 2015 #41 Posted December 5, 2015 Definitely interested, if I can get the time off. Summer's the busy season. You may want to consider having it the weekend before or after the WNY Rally so that those with the time can attend both, and spend the week in-between the two events exploring the area.
XV1100SE Posted December 5, 2015 Author #42 Posted December 5, 2015 Best weather is mid July - dry, hot, sunny. Mid to late August can be wet, cooler over night....
Eck Posted December 5, 2015 #43 Posted December 5, 2015 My wife and I might be on our trip out west in July, and if so, we wont be able to make it then.
XV1100SE Posted December 6, 2015 Author #44 Posted December 6, 2015 Found four places that have motel and camping : 1) South Wind Motel and Campground, in Minden 2) Edgewater Motel, Cabins and Camping, in Haileybury 3) Kahshe Motel, Camp, and Trailer Park, in Kilworthy 4) Pike Lake Golf Centre, in Clifford Anyone with knowledge of these places?
Atoolnut Posted December 6, 2015 #45 Posted December 6, 2015 been watching this...would haileybury be booked due to new lisleard bikers reunion?
Marcarl Posted December 6, 2015 #46 Posted December 6, 2015 I would say for myself that Minden would be my choice, but we will not be available on July 1st weekend, so the 7th thru 10th is doable. Minden has what it looks like the best choice of facilities, and is right smack in good riding area. Kilworthy might be a little short on rooms and camping facility. Hailybury is a long ways north, but Bikers Reunion is the weekend before and I'm not at all familiar with the riding up there so I can't comment much. Clifford,,, well not much for riding there. Lots of roads and a lot of gravel. Wayne and I spent a day there this fall and I would go hands down for Minden.

XV1100SE Posted December 7, 2015 Author #49 Posted December 7, 2015 I'm leaning towards Minden. In the New Year I'll schedule a trip up there to check it out.
