Eck Posted November 25, 2015 #1 Posted November 25, 2015 Harley Davidson with 30 inch chrome "floating" front wheel. http://think-man.info/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/011.mp4?_=1
Stache Posted November 25, 2015 #2 Posted November 25, 2015 Nice bike, but wearing shorts, low shoes, and a ball cap for a helmet? No thanks.
cowpuc Posted November 25, 2015 #3 Posted November 25, 2015 That there is the kinda stuff that beat Tweeks out of last years 1st place trophy at our local bike show - still bugs me:think: Years ago I got yapping with another builder out in Sturgis about the "spokeless" rear wheel on his showbike - the rim was basically a huge bearing and attached so I was able to crawl thru the center of the wheel - pretty amazing really. I asked about rideability of such a set up (the rear pulley had to be attached directly to the rim/bearings outer race - not giving much room between the pulley and the ground - I could not see how you could corner without making pavement contact with the outer edge of the pulley. His reply was "its strickly a show bike, not a rider". Now looking at the front wheel of this scoot Eck, it almost looks like the wheel has bearing surfaces at both the axle and at the rim O.D... Pretty cool really BUT, if that is so,, I wonder what kind of effect that would have on the gyro dynamics when steering:think: (noticing he didnt get the bike up to speed enough where the gyro dynamics begin to have effect ).. I know most auto wheels that give that "floating" appearance are done with hub caps on bearings - not the rim itself.. Good find brother!!
djh3 Posted November 26, 2015 #4 Posted November 26, 2015 Hmm looks almost like the one my nephew had. http://www.thestrong.org/online-collections/images/Z000/Z00049/Z0004987.jpg
cecdoo Posted November 26, 2015 #5 Posted November 26, 2015 The wheel is cool, but I really like those stretched bags, wonder what they would look like on the Venture? Craig
cecdoo Posted November 26, 2015 #6 Posted November 26, 2015 Nice bike, but wearing shorts, low shoes, and a ball cap for a helmet? No thanks. Yeah, and I even saw a guy wear flip flops once LOL!! Craig
