Everette Posted April 6, 2008 #1 Posted April 6, 2008 I've been working on my bike for the past week, getting ready for the summer. I have some Ride On tire sealent. http://www.ride-on.com/prod_mot.asp Before I put this in the tires, does anyone else run with this in their tires and is there any down side?
Brake Pad Posted April 6, 2008 #2 Posted April 6, 2008 Is the tires flat from sitting, or did something happen to them, Nail???? If its the second, I'd look into another tire. Just for safty
gibvel Posted April 6, 2008 #3 Posted April 6, 2008 Is the tires flat from sitting, or did something happen to them, Nail???? If its the second, I'd look into another tire. Just for safty Brake Pad, this is a preventive thing. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with his tire. You put ride on in the tire before picking up a nail or what not and it seals the tire so it doesn't go flat. http://www.ride-on.com/ I've been working on my bike for the past week, getting ready for the summer. Everette, Lots of guys on this site run with Ride on. I've got it in my tires and I can't see a change in handling but it does give make you more at ease knowing that it's there. The up side is it helps keep the air pressure more constant in your tire, helps balance the tire and makes them run a little cooler so they last a little longer. Don't know for sure about the lasting longer or running cooler but the air pressure in my tires does hold more constant (check them every weekend...pressure wise).
Tom Posted April 6, 2008 #4 Posted April 6, 2008 I use it and no problems..when you change tires it is VERY easy to clean out, just wet rag and wipe. Went on a 500 mile ride yesterday once up to 100 and no vibrations. Tom
kbran Posted April 6, 2008 #5 Posted April 6, 2008 I use it as well and it cleans up easy on tire change, you don't get much on the rim anyway because it stays in the bottom of the tire. And it keeps the tires balanced.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #6 Posted April 6, 2008 So how many ounces are you guys putting into the Rear and the front? Are you purchasing the 3 Pack? I thinks I am going to order some. Thanks, Jeff
wild hair 39 Posted April 6, 2008 #7 Posted April 6, 2008 i am sold ,ride on,had a tire changed up in mi, last year,found 5 nails in it,still had 37# in it,what else can i say
Squidley Posted April 6, 2008 #8 Posted April 6, 2008 I used it on my 2nd '99 and I purposely ran a screw into the tire before I was going to change it out. Kept the correct air for 3 weeks I would put it in my tires again.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #9 Posted April 6, 2008 And?? *lol* How many bottles did you guys need to get? *waiting* got the order page open *hint hint* How much for the front How much for the rear?
Everette Posted April 6, 2008 Author #10 Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks for all the replies. I'm trying to figure the same thing as far as how much to use in the tires. I cannot find the MT150/90 on the chart.
midnightrider54 Posted April 6, 2008 #11 Posted April 6, 2008 I order the kit. How much depends on the size of your tires. Both of mine took 7 oz. Chuck
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #12 Posted April 6, 2008 Alrighty then.. The 3 Pack it is then.. now to figure out how many ounces for rear and front when it shows up! Thanks, Jeff
Condor Posted April 6, 2008 #13 Posted April 6, 2008 When I talked to the guys at Ride-On they caught my 2 bottle order and changed it to a 3 because it was a better deal, and if I remember, cost less??
midnightrider54 Posted April 6, 2008 #14 Posted April 6, 2008 The kit comes with a chart. I have mine in hand. What size tire do you have and I'll take a look for you.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #15 Posted April 6, 2008 Looks like now there is only a one bottle and 3 bottle deal.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #16 Posted April 6, 2008 *lol* I am not in the garage. but there the Stock Size's For the RSV I think I ordered enough though... I think ONE bottle would not do the trick.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #17 Posted April 6, 2008 Gunna also try there other product All Kleer Cleaner and Polish just for the heck of it.
midnightrider54 Posted April 6, 2008 #18 Posted April 6, 2008 For the Front 150/80 16 takes 8oz. and the same for the rear 150/90 15.
Cougar Posted April 6, 2008 #19 Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks for the Info Chuck... Wonder why the smaller front tire would take the same as the larger rear tire? Jeff
