ToyOdie Posted October 20, 2015 #1 Posted October 20, 2015 I'm installing my rear wheel after getting a new tire. This is something I have done many times over the years but something isn't right this time. When I start to tighten the axle nut (with a 3/8 ratchet) the wheel gets tight to the point that it won't rotate easily. I have checked to book to make sure I had the spacer on the right side of the caliper bracket and everything in the right order. Not sure what might be the problem. I have tried several times with the same result.
Bubber Posted October 21, 2015 #2 Posted October 21, 2015 You have done the same thing most of us have done, that spacer washer is not in the correct place. look at the manual and you will see the correct location. I don't remember the specific place so I don't want to tell you. Just know I did the same thing. Good luck Bubber

I just got off the phone with cowpuc and he was very quick to identify the problem. The spacer on the differential side of the wheel is not there. Highly suspect it is on the balancing machine where I had the tire mounted. I'll be going down there tomorrow to see if I can find it or I'm going to have to order one.
cowpuc Posted October 21, 2015 #4 Posted October 21, 2015 Now that we have Toy's mystery solved, I will do another one of my hi-jacking stunts and lead us down another path:big-grin-emoticon: (usual apology for the hi-jack here @ToyOdie.. While I was playing on the site Toy PMed me with his question about the wheel - important stuff to say the least.. Problem was a "P.M." message did not appear on my screen (still hasnt - Toy told me in our phone conversation that he had sent one - that is how I knew to check my P.M.'s after I chatted with him).. It seems like in the past I have had the message appear BUT maybe I am dreaming or really am a madman like Billmac keeps saying I am:big-grin-emoticon: Anyone know if I have accidently flipped a switch in the control board or something?
Flyinfool Posted October 21, 2015 #5 Posted October 21, 2015 2 weeks ago was the last time I got a PM. It popped up in front of me just like always.

Flyinfool Posted October 21, 2015 #8 Posted October 21, 2015 My little Chinese guy is not allowed to take breaks. He is always working. If you go to "settings" top right corner of screen. Then "General Settings" in bar on left of screen. There is a section for your preferences for PMs.

Same thing happened in Toy's case.. Like its only notifying every other one or something.. I checked in the setting as you mentioned and I have pop up for notification enabled.. This is strange, maybe my chinese guy caught some kind of a skipping virus:Bunny:

I had 4 notifications show up. Maybe I needed to get the little guy's attention.

WildBill1 Posted October 23, 2015 #13 Posted October 23, 2015 When you find and install the spAcer match the chamfer ends together or there will be a rattle in the rear end .
