zoomjay Posted October 11, 2015 #1 Posted October 11, 2015 I just picked up a 1989 Venture Royale which will be one of my "projects" over the winter (beats watching TV). Unfortunately it is missing a few pieces... specifically the two side body pieces and the lower "lip" - basically all of the bodywork below the fairing. Is my best bet to watch ebay and simply pick parts up as I go along or is there a "well known" cache of spare parts out there I can tap into? Thanks
cruiserlover Posted October 11, 2015 #2 Posted October 11, 2015 I have seen gazillions of them on ebay. But go to dallas craigslist, a guy has a complete somewhat beatup venture, about 86 model for $200.
zoomjay Posted October 15, 2015 Author #3 Posted October 15, 2015 this raises another questions - will the body panels from the 1200 (gen 1) fit the 1300 (gen 2)?? Thanks
Wizard765 Posted October 15, 2015 #4 Posted October 15, 2015 The side panels will fit. not sure what you mean by the "lip" but if you mean the chin in front of the rad at the bottom then the mk1s did not come with those. If you mean the small piece that connects the lower fairings together then yes they are the same.. BUT if you are somewhat patient you may come up with the right pieces from the same year in the same color so as not to need to paint.. eBay has these all the time
Condor Posted October 15, 2015 #5 Posted October 15, 2015 this raises another questions - will the body panels from the 1200 (gen 1) fit the 1300 (gen 2)?? Thanks Back when wrenching on the '83 I did replace one of the lowers.... I think off an '87... and found the frame tab was off about an inch off from where the '83's was located. Zip tied it.... :-)
zoomjay Posted October 15, 2015 Author #6 Posted October 15, 2015 I agree with the patience aspect. My goals are to get them to fit and in the right color...
Flyinfool Posted October 15, 2015 #7 Posted October 15, 2015 You have this posted in the 2nd gen section, might get a few more views in the 1st gen section. Your 89 is a 1st Gen, Mark II. Ask a moderator to move it for you.

Thanks I have the entire fairing off my 1988 Venture Royale less the saddle bags removed. Some of the parts would need some fiberglass patching on the tabs and a couple have cracks that would need filled. You are welcome to them for the cost of shipping + a few bucks for the packaging to get them to you. Your welcome to toss a few bones my way if you like but I would rather just get them out of the shed and see them go to good use.
zoomjay Posted October 16, 2015 Author #9 Posted October 16, 2015 pm sent venturevet.... and thank you
VerntureVet Posted October 16, 2015 #10 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) ALL of that is in my Shed. you need everything south of the uppers with the turn signals in them? Edited October 16, 2015 by VerntureVet
zoomjay Posted October 16, 2015 Author #11 Posted October 16, 2015 yes, everything south of the fairing... let me send you a picture. I think I have your email. At this point this site will not let me post pictures. I will send you a few photos of my bike as it now sits. thanks
Condor Posted October 17, 2015 #12 Posted October 17, 2015 I need a lot of body parts too.... The problem is they have nothing to do with a Venture or any motorcycle for that matter..... Getting old is a *****.... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/OldCodger.jpg
