slowrollwv Posted September 27, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 27, 2015 I would look it over real good. Check mileage. I am sure that the people at the auction know what year it is. If it is 07 or 08 it could bring 8,000 to 10,000 depending on who is bidding.
Condor Posted September 27, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) I would look it over real good. Check mileage. I am sure that the people at the auction know what year it is. If it is 07 or 08 it could bring 8,000 to 10,000 depending on who is bidding. All that's been available so far are the two pics. Last year they had a big advertising campaign, but this year it's just the pics so far. Also last year they had a bunch of cars consigned, this year very few... Hey, the less awareness the smaller audience... Hope they get on the stick and start putting together a catalog... The auction is scheduled for this coming Friday!! Well I did a little poking around and came up with more info. Here's a link to the auction. http://musclecarmadnessauction.com/ I don't know why they don't promote it better on their home page?? One of my biggest complaints about the place. Enjoy the spread of vehicles. It's interesting... :-) Edited September 27, 2015 by Condor
cowpuc Posted September 28, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 28, 2015 Gorgeous scoot Jack, looks like a twin cam (99 or newer) judging by what appears to be the modular tranny. Cant really see the cam cover of the space between the push rods well enough to see there,, what the heck is that between the pipes right under the breather:think:.. Almost looks like a magneto setup on an old sporty but that aint possible,, not enough mass or piping for turbo,, not long enough for gear drive blower,, interesting - veryyy interesting.. Anyway, for sure its a "B" motor (balanced) cause thats what they used in the soft tails like that - notice the oil lines? B motor for sure.. Not as peppy as the "A" motors like they put in the other models (non soft tails) but good motors. Wheels make it look like a CVO/Screamin Eagle.. Tell ya what, bought an 07 Super Glide Custom, nice bike 18k miles - running rideable for 3500 from a Harley dealer who needed money bad (bought in January - they hadnt sold a bike since October). Resold in spring for 6500 without to much trouble.. Would guess you would be "safe" between those number,, make sure it runs good before you bid though - if ya cant run it thru the gears = take 2 grand right off the top cause they aint cheap to fix:happy34: Thats my opinion brother,, next time I am in town I will buy ya a cup of coffee = the java's probably worth more
Condor Posted September 28, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted September 28, 2015 Thanks for the feedback Puc. You da man.... I did find that earlier Soft tail CVO's had a springer front fork and this one doesn't. I wonder if it's a parts custom?? I couldn't find anything that looked exactly like it, and pics are all I have to go on cuzz' I'm Harley challenged....
Freebird Posted September 28, 2015 Share #12 Posted September 28, 2015 Different bikes Condor. There is a Heritage Softail and there was a Springer Softail. The Springer was discontinued several years back. That's a shame because it was one of my favorites from a styling standpoint though it did not always get high marks for handling. billmac Posted September 28, 2015 Share #14 Posted September 28, 2015 Not cheap it's a consignment sale not a repo sale.
Condor Posted September 28, 2015 Author Share #15 Posted September 28, 2015 It's an auction.... It's doubtful, but if no one wants it, it could go for very cheap... unless it has a reserve.... Then it may not get a bid if the reserve is too high.....

Me too brothe:thumbsup:r!! They actually made a couple of Soft Tail springers too Don. The one I REALLY would LOVE to have is the Heritage Springer - thats the one that has that "Olivia" look to it.. Had the horn mounted up under the headlight and the "hood ornament" on the front fender = wow zzz wow wow wow.. I personally liked the last year of the Evo's in that bike cause they still had the reflectors on the seat.. The early Twin Cam models were VERY SHARP though.. The other springer soft tail had a narrower front tire - more of chopper look, they were sharp but I like the Heritage Springer better, that dog gone Olivia poisoned me I think By the way @Condor,, you are more than welcome champ!! CaptainJoe Posted September 29, 2015 Share #17 Posted September 29, 2015 I stay away from auctions. In WV the auctioneers are permitted to "bid off the wall", or, "phantom bid"... bids that don't exist...
Condor Posted September 29, 2015 Author Share #18 Posted September 29, 2015 I stay away from auctions. In WV the auctioneers are permitted to "bid off the wall", or, "phantom bid"... bids that don't exist... They call it 'bouncing one off the wall' around here, and it's been going on since auctions began. It doesn't take long to figure out what they're doing if you've been around auctions as long as I have. I've even stood up and stopped the bidding and asked who the high bidder was at a live auction or two. The problem arises with absentee bids, and online proxy bids. They say your high bid will be treated as a proxy and only enough will be bid up to your high. When it gets suspicious is when you get two or three items at your highest absentee bid. Had it happen on 5 out of 6 items once. I had a serious talk with the auctioneer afterwards. Hasn't happened since. Bought one of my trailers with a phone in proxy. The bidding went right up to my max and stopped. I found out that the trailer belonged to someone from the auction company. That's bidding against insider knowledge... It's a great trailer and I'm not unhappy with what I paid for it, but I sure would have liked to have gotten it for less.... :-)
