BigLenny Posted September 25, 2015 #1 Posted September 25, 2015 Just an FYI. I stopped by my local Yammy dealer yesterday to see if they had heard anything on Yamaha's 2016 lineup. The owner said Yamaha has ordered all of the dealers to be on a conference call for an announcement on October 6th. He assumes they will be announcing the 2016 lineup on that call. We'll see. Just letting y'all know BL
H2O Posted September 25, 2015 #2 Posted September 25, 2015 I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice if they release a new Venture soon.....or at least before I'm too old to ride!!
SilvrT Posted September 25, 2015 #5 Posted September 25, 2015 I just heard that Yamaha made an "under-the-table" deal with Polaris a few years ago that since Polaris was bringing out the Indian with full tour package, Yamaha wouldn't compete in the touring market.

To what benefit of yamaha's ? Sounds like interweb BS to me!

ragtop69gs Posted September 25, 2015 #9 Posted September 25, 2015 I thought everything on the interweb is true:confused24: But of course it is,,, and because I love all you VR folks I'll be picking up everyone's motel tab at next years International rally, if I hit the lottery [emoji8]
BigLenny Posted September 28, 2015 Author #10 Posted September 28, 2015 Went to Bikes Blues and BBQ this past weekend and the Yamaha corporate truck was there doing test rides. They confirmed to me that Yamaha is doing an announcement on October 5th or 6th, but they are also doing ones in November and December. They said they have never seen Yamaha spread the new lineup announcements out as much as they are this year. They also said they get asked about a new full dress touring bike all the time, but stated they don't know if one is going to be announced this fall.

Loosing this summer has really been rough. Lot of time to think. Trike or other three wheel combo ain't me. But could happen. Never say Never. Scared Warden to death this time for some reason. Mover Posted October 6, 2015 #17 Posted October 6, 2015 Yamaha Canada website now has the 2016 motorcycles showing. The Stratoliner, Roadliner and Road Star are not shown. No new Venture.
BigLenny Posted October 6, 2015 Author #18 Posted October 6, 2015 Looks the same on the US website. The only consellation is the people at the Yamaha factory test ride event said they are going to make new announcements in October, November, and December. Guess we'll see if that's true. Prolly not. They look like they are going the way of Suzuki as far as their styles of bikes they're interested in.
Ace Posted October 8, 2015 #22 Posted October 8, 2015 I don't see the FJR in the line up either, I do think there will be some later releases.
Freebird Posted October 9, 2015 #23 Posted October 9, 2015 Wasn't the FJR a Yamaha? That may sound like a strange question but remember the cruisers are now Stars. I got an email from Star yesterday announcing the 2016 lineup. Surely there must be more to come. If not, Yamaha seems to have given up completely on the large touring market and for that matter, large cruisers.
StarFan Posted October 9, 2015 #24 Posted October 9, 2015 Words taken straight from the mouth of the CEO of Yamaha Motors: Product creation is a process that begins from the customers. I believe our task as a manufacturer is to maximize and optimize the value we provide our customers, in terms of product appeal, reliability and cost performance. What’s more, we must always do it in ways that exceed customer expectations. That’s why we always listen to the voices of the customers in each market and build and supply products that fit the realities of the specific markets. Because we know that each product has to be the real thing and we have to offer it at a price that represents real value for the customers in their market Ain´t we lucky !!
