Just like the title says, I am looking for a used and abused 1st gen, MKII if it makes a difference, windshield. It does not have to be pretty at all. As long as the mounting area, and most of the outside shape is there. Major scratches or cloudiness from chemicals don't matter.

I will be sending it to Don at F4 windshields so that he can use it as a pattern to be able to make F4 windshields for the 1st gens.

After talking to Don this morning he said that if he had a pattern to design something, he would make the shields. He said that he would most likely not stock them but would make them on an as needed basis with about a 2 week lead time. I can deal with that.

I had my original stored away for a couple of years while trying to talk Don into doing the 1st gens. Just after I finally gave it away to someone that needed one, Don decided to go ahead and look into the 1st gen shields.:bang head::bang head::bang head:

I no longer have an OEM. I changed my OEM out to a Slipstream a few years ago cuz F4 did not make a 1st gen. I held on to the old one for a few years hoping F4 would change their mind, until a VRO member had one a lot worse than my old one so I gave away my old one I was saving. Now a few more years down the road F4 is looking for an OEM 1st gen shield to get dimensions off of.

I do have a "spare" and the F4 sure sounds like a nice shield.

But shipping from Canada would be horribly prohibitive, it's doubtful I could afford a new F4 and I also need my spare to make a power articulated shield this winter.

So I'm not a likely donor.

It is great to see some support for the old rigs though.

And, my post is a free bump for someone else to hopefully see the thread....:)

I've got one that is so yellow you cannot see through it. It does have a hole cut into the lower center because I used it for practice before cutting up my good windshield to install a GoldWing vent. Let me know if this will do the trick.

I believe that will do the trick.

How did the vent hole turn out? Was it in the right location? That would only make it easier for F4 to add the wing vent.

It's been awhile since I cut it up, but I believe the one in the "template" was fine. He can try and fit one in and see......

Don't know if it's what you're looking for or if you still need on, but I also had this from my 88 VR I changed out this spring. Hope the image came through. It says it's Lexan and has a GE stamp in it. Don't know if it's the original for sure but it still has the rubber gasket along the bottom too.

The description on the shield reads:

AS6 M-121

GE

Lexan RMR Sheet

DOT 94

Getting one to Don is in process. It will be a few days for it to get there.

The item I received yesterday I hoped would have a large enough box was shipped to me with a label on the item and no box. Which brings up this question:

Can I just walk this thing into a FedEx store and have them label it, or do I need to find a box?

I guess you would have to call FedEX and ask. You may have to at least wrap it in bubble wrap or something.

OR, its only a couple hundred miles, might be a nice time of year for a road trip...........:Venture:

I was just down there a couple weeks ago picking up a tractor. Too bad I didn't know......
