has anyone tried on a 87 venture royal Metzeler ME 880 Marathon Touring Front Tire Dunlop Elite 3 Rear Tire blaine

Not sure on that combo. A lot of people are using the Michelin commander and the E11 . I use the E3's on my 03 and like them.

I had a full set of ME880's on my '86 when the rear tire threw some chunks. The dealer replaced the rear with a Michelin Commander (my choice). The ME880 on the front and the Michelin on the rear ran great.

 

Many, including myself, have had issues with the ME880's on the rear but I don't remember hearing about any front tire problems.

Yep. My rear chunked but front was great. Got rid of both though....no trust left.

 

I think you are good to go with ME on front...
