Dave_Anderson Posted September 13, 2015 #1 Posted September 13, 2015 have problems with 1988 venture battery light staying on. Even though the battery is at 14 volts. is there a way to reset it
Freebird Posted September 13, 2015 #2 Posted September 13, 2015 The warning light is just indicating low electrolyte level, NOT voltage. What kind of battery is in it? Does it have the probe inserted?
Dave_Anderson Posted September 14, 2015 Author #3 Posted September 14, 2015 no probe that I can see. will have to look for it. think the battery came for batteries' plus. The wife brought it home. When I got the bike it did not have a battery
fishrepair Posted September 14, 2015 #4 Posted September 14, 2015 Unhook the battery probe that is in the right hand cell. If it is not there, find it and unhook it.
videoarizona Posted September 14, 2015 #5 Posted September 14, 2015 If you don't have a probe in the top of the battery, then the light will stay on until you do a mod to the circuit. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?489-Battery-Warning-Bypass david
Jayceesfolly Posted September 14, 2015 #6 Posted September 14, 2015 The battery indicator light is indicating the electrolyte level is low, as stated above. If the sensor is missing , there is a work around for AGM type batteries that do not use a probe. Go to this link below and read thread #2 and click on the link indicated. It will explain how to take care of the problem. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?76880-about-battery&highlight=battery+probe Jim
