About 3 years ago I ordered a Deka AGM battery for my 07 from saskbattery.com. Best price I could find at the time, free shipping anywhere in Canada and excellent to deal with. Can't remember what I paid so can't say whether it was more or less than this one you found. To date it's the best battery I've had in the bike. Doug

I also have a deka AGM battery in my bike which is currantly on its 4th year and still going strong. I bought it locally for $84.00 from ACME Battery in Hamilton. At the time it was the best deal I could find on either side of the border. I have heard that some of the different brand names are actually Deka Battery's which have been relabelled. In either case the specs apear to be the same and that is why I posted it.

I bought my Deka AGM battery a couple years ago and it died today. I rode 55km km on the highway and parked at a drug store to get a sympathy card. Came out and tried to start the bike but it would turn a little bit and wouldn't start. I thought I was lucky being beside a Parts Source (similar to Autozone) but they don't sell bike batteries. I thought the battery has been weak lately so I have been carrying booster cables with me. Got a boost and rode to work (about 10km). 3hrs later, ready to boost the bike again, I turned the key on and hit the starter and it fired up.

I put a voltmeter on the battery and it showed 11.75v when I got home. Started the bike and at 1k rpm the battery showed 11.85v. Increased the rpm up to 3k rpm and was getting almost 14v (voltage increased with rpm). Turned the bike off and the battery showed slightly over 12v. As I held it there the voltage dropped by 0.01v every couple seconds.

I disconnected the wires going to the positive terminal and put the digital meter to the ohms setting. With one meter lead on the negative post of the battery I touched each wire that went to the positive post and got no readings. I figure this is a quick way to make sure there is no drain on the battery with the bike off.

Battery is 3 or 4 years old so not that happy with how long it lasted. Despite that, I'll probably get another one. Battery Wholesale in Kitchener carries the Deka.
