cruiserlover Posted September 11, 2015 #1 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) I live 50 miles from him.I took my seat to him.My seat was so whittled on and heavily modified when he saw it he said i would be better off just buying a complete seat, that there wasnt much of my seat left to work with.I dont have 300 for a used ebay seat.Whoever butchered my seat used some crummpy grey nonsupportive collapsing foam for the bulk of the seat cushion.A stock seat like his is at least 6 inches wider than mine. But, he cut out most of the offending foam, replaced it with quality foam, then memory foam, stretched the upholstery back over it,stapled it, and I sat on it.Amazing difference.I can hardly wait to go for a ride on it.For a crummy seat with nothing to build on he somehow saved it.He said buy some more seats and bring them to him and let him redo them.I will someday. cruiserlover Posted September 11, 2015 Author #4 Posted September 11, 2015 he was only going to charge me $20.00.I gave him 30.I will post a picture of before and after.
cruiserlover Posted September 11, 2015 Author #5 Posted September 11, 2015 I tried, insert image, it showed i did it.Now it doesnt appear.Anyhow, the seat feels lousy. He didnt help it all.Not his fault. The former guy screwed it up with the lousy padding. At least the cover is back on.he worked for an hour and a half on it.
Triple J Posted September 11, 2015 #6 Posted September 11, 2015 I'm confused , your first post says amazing difference and your last post says it feels lousy.
cruiserlover Posted September 11, 2015 Author #7 Posted September 11, 2015 I did not ride the bike to his house. The traffic in dallas is very dangerous. The seat felt fine sitting on a perch he had,a stool actually.I put it on the bike this morning, went for a ride.Hurts my tailbone. He said the seat is too far gone. His work was excellent, but it couldnt correct all the lousy stuff that someone else had done to it.You can tell he is very good at what he does.
Triple J Posted September 11, 2015 #8 Posted September 11, 2015 Ok, I understand now So I take it you'll be looking for a seat

cruiserlover Posted September 18, 2015 Author #12 Posted September 18, 2015 Wow,you can get $300 for a stock seat?Where do I sign up? On ebay the drivers seat alone sells for 200-250.After rick redid mine it is perfect.I dont know how the stock seats feel, I never sat on one.
Saddle tramp Posted September 18, 2015 #13 Posted September 18, 2015 If it would help anyone I have a stock seat like new I would sell.I wanted a back rest is the only reason I replaced it.My bike and seat have less than 19,000 miles on them.Would love to help anybody.I'm old and wanted something to lean on.
Saddle tramp Posted September 26, 2015 #14 Posted September 26, 2015 To be honest,if I can help anybody I would do it.My seat is collecting dust.
