hell yea Posted September 10, 2015 #1 Posted September 10, 2015 when ever i compress my forks they squeak real bad just can't think of a reason why they would do that any thorts ? have never come across it before damned annoying
eusa1 Posted September 11, 2015 #2 Posted September 11, 2015 put a jack under the right front cast iron floor board support and jack it up until the forks are fully extended and the front wheel is just off the ground. leaving the rear wheel and kick stand to support the bike... now clean all the bugs and debris that has collected between the top and bottom half of the forks where they telescope together. then return with your report.
cowpuc Posted September 13, 2015 #3 Posted September 13, 2015 Another thought, just thinking out loud here.. Maybe the springs are sacked enough that they are actually rubbing against the wall of the fork.. Possibly time for some Progressives... Or,, maybe they dont have enough Fork Oil in them and you are just hearing springs work... Any history of fluid loss? When was the last time you swapped out the fork oil?
hell yea Posted September 16, 2015 Author #4 Posted September 16, 2015 i sprayed sum wd40 up there and it stopped the squeak still dont get what was squeaking though lol
eusa1 Posted September 16, 2015 #5 Posted September 16, 2015 or just squirt sum crap on the forks and wonder about it a little longer???
