tletourneau Posted September 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2015 Hello all, I am wondering what people do with their hand when the cruise is on. I have a 2009 and I like to keep my hand on the bar but that doesn't seem to work very well with the cruise on and holding the end cap gets old on longer rides. Does anyone make a bracket of some sort to rest your hand on? Thanks, Tom Sent from my phone.
Du-Rron Posted September 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2015 When I am on cruise I use my free hand to hold my beer... But seriously tho... Have you made the bike your own yet? Adjusted handlebar tilt to your reach? I find it most comfortable to ride with my hand on and off the end cap, fly in the breeze, play with the GPS. H2O Posted September 6, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 6, 2015 When I am on cruise I use my free hand to hold my beer... But seriously tho... Have you made the bike your own yet? Adjusted handlebar tilt to your reach? I find it most comfortable to ride with my hand on and off the end cap, fly in the breeze, play with the GPS. And I usually take a peek into the gas tank to make sure my fuel gauge is working but it's not easy in those turns... Personally I usually just get the blood flowing, shake the Arther out with my hand down low at my side then get it back on the controls.
dogman Posted September 6, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 6, 2015 I like to rub my wife's thigh and calf when the cruise is on. It balances out as I rub her left thigh and calf without the cruise on.
Great White Posted September 6, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 6, 2015 I usually just rest it on my leg/lap and hold the bar with the left hand. I've got a messed up RH wrist, so I'm usually working my fingers or shaking it to get blood flow and feeling back into my hand. Right now I use a throttle lock, next year the bike will have cruise. XV1100SE Posted September 7, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2015 When I use the cruise control I'll usually still have my hand on the throttle because I find it comfortable and I also like to have both hands on the bars to maintain control in case something suddenly happens. dna9656 Posted September 7, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 7, 2015 Sometimes I have to scratch something...I know my Road Star makes my nose itch terribly.... Speaking of cruise control... Mine didn't work at all (83.5) yet the light is dim/bright when it's supposed to. Now it's started working intermittently yet it won't HOLD the setting at any speed so I THINK I have a vacuum leak.... Comments?
Du-Rron Posted September 8, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 8, 2015 And I usually take a peek into the gas tank to make sure my fuel gauge is working but it's not easy in those turns... ohhh... good one! I forgot about doing that one. Have to keep the spare key handy.
VerntureVet Posted September 13, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 13, 2015 If my cruise is on then my feet are stretched out on the highway pegs. I just drop alternating hands to my knee so as not to be far from the handle bars. No thats not me or my bike but thats about the position.
