I'm installing a pair of 18 watt 12v LED floods on the RSV. That converts to 1.5 amp draw for each light, 3 amp total draw. Charts indicate 16ga wire for the length required, is a 5 amp fuse sufficient? Any advantage to using a relay on this low draw circuit? Seems a toggle switch should handle 3 amps without a relay just fine.

I know just a little more about electric than I do nuclear power ! :big-grin-emoticon:

A toggle switch should be just fine. However if you want to connect them through the headlamp switch then a relay would be the way to go.

If your concerned about the amps going thru a mini switch you could run the setup by just using the switch on the ground side of the wiring.

Probably don't need a relay either with such low amps but for peace of mind you could add one.

Man those remind me of some aircraft Taxi lights I had installed many moons ago. They were on a GS1100 Suzuki and if you turned them both on at same time I think it slowed the bike. LOL Those are looking sporty. Almost same idea I had.

They throw some good light even adjusted pointing down low. They are both flood 20* floods, I'm going to replace the left one with a spot beam. $20 a pair off ebay, 1500 lumens 18 watts

Not sure what happened with the pics posting sideways :confused24:
