DragonRider Posted September 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) The date is set for our annual ride to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The date is Saturday, October 3, 2015. We will be meeting at our usual place, Flying J/Pilot Truck stop that sits between the junction of I-55 and I-40 in W. Memphis, Ark. We will be meeting there between 11:00/11:30 am for lunch, then we will ride over to St. Jude in Memphis, about a 5-10 min. ride across the Mississippi River. We will be touring the hospital and then presenting them with the proceeds that we have collected this year for the "Kids". If you haven't visited St. Jude you owe it to yourself, it is something that will touch you, to see what they can do for these "Kids" is something that you can't put into perspective till you see it for yourself. Please come out and join us, its something that will change you, ask anyone who has been. Take a moment and look at the picture below. The very young man sitting on his brothers lap is Brayden Shields, he as been a patient at St. Jude almost since birth. That picture was taken 5 years ago. Today after many surgeries he is an active 6 year old thanks to St. Jude, and everyone who supports their work and research. This is a picture of Brayden today. DragonRider Posted September 6, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted September 6, 2015 We are a little over $2200.00 for this year, since this years Vogel was structured different we didnt raise as much as we usually do. But we will collect more at the gathering and add that to the total, I am hoping to reach at least $3000.00. Our very first donation in 2005 was $500.00, and our largest was $10,400.00. DragonRider Posted September 7, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Yes, I forgot about that, that was around $231.00 if I remember right, given to Mary Nicole the little angel that graced us with not one visit, but two.. we gave half of the 50/50 raffle to her and the winner of that raffle gave her winning to her also.........sorry, I forget who that was, but it was an awesome moment.
