Hi

I got some chrome filler pieces off E Bay.

The left hand piece came with a bracket that replaces the OE one. To fit it I need to take out the bolts (yellow rings in the pic) the fit the new bracket. I am worried that by loosening these bolts I may do some damage or end up with an oil leak or worse. These seem pretty heavy bolts. The new bracket is hanging on the peg in the pic fyi.

Do you think I can go ahead and just take the bolts out and replace them with the new bracket bolts without doing any damage?

Your advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yep. Done it a couple times. Just make sure to torque those two bolts to factory spec. Also make sure that your new kit includes the proper spacers and the required longer bolts that should have been included.

Thanks Prairiehammer!

This is better advice than I had hoped for. It is great to have a resource like Venturerider.org.

Thanks again.
