As some of you know, I took a trip out west, 6,500+ miles, 12 states, 2 Canadian provinces in 4 weeks. Had every weather you could imagine, short of tornadoes.

A big thanks to SilverT for some tips on some great roads up there. Man, I really don't know how you can afford to live up there.

Of course met some interesting folks along the way, and camped most of the time. A few motels when they were needed.

Have to say though that the first 5,200 miles were two lane with the exception to jump to another road. When I got to ND on the way home is when that ended.

I started going through my pictures and when I'm done will post a ride thread. I'm about half way through them now, but really need to clean up the bike and trailer. UGLY!

I did take LOTS of pics and even got pretty good at including me in them sometimes.

I also need to update my rode on states map. I added 5 more states.

Glad you had a great trip and enjoyed some of those routes.

As for "affording" .... it gets more and more difficult every year coz my wages don't seem to go up by the same percentage that my living cost does ... but I'd guess that's pretty much the norm everywhere!

I used to think I'd be able to retire somewhere around 67 ... now that I'm 68 and still working, I'm shooting for 70 but I figure the way things are going by the time I hit 70, I'll be looking at 75 .... geeeesh!

And my boss says I can't leave unless they're carrying me out in a pine box!!
