I CAN HELP WITH THAT ---Got stuff that needs a new home. just give me the cubic feet of space you need to fill so I know how big a truck to borrow rent or steal.

@sleepy2 They got me again :bang head: customs at Niagra Falls pulled me in and proceded to empty the bike and trailer, took everything out of every suitcase, bag, pouch and checked it with a magnifying glass :crying: then made Jeannie & I go inside for a battery of Q&A  An hour & 1/2 later we were on our way.

I'm really beginning to not like Canadian Customs! :sign It wasnt me:

Well MJ44, you know what they say about hacks, the only people that ride one do so because they need one. I had one for 15 year and loved the old girl. It was a 1979 Yamaha XS1100 with full touring gear. A Pacifico fairing and lowers, KC removable side bags and trunk and a movable driver backrest. I pulled a 1985 Velorex 700 sidecar. My ex wife and i both road and got tired of looking foe babysitters to watch the kids for an impromptu ride. I picked up the bike foe $800 . and the side car for the same amount for a shop down on long island. Our kids rode with us everywhere after that.XS Baggage.jpgKids grew up and started riding bikes of their own. I finally sold it three years ago.Now a musician owns it. he uses it to ride to gig's and carries his instruments in it.

IT was a shame to miss the rally again (2nd year I missed) our God daughter came to live with us and we had just helped her find a new job but sadly she doesn't have a license yet. She had missed work when we were out of town last week and we felt it wasn't right to ask her to sacrifice any more time from work. We missed you all and we know we missed a good time with a great group of friends. We'll shoot for next year.

In this case, riding a hack is a want, not a need. I like different and this fits the bill. Being able to take friends and supplies is a bonus.

On the way home a guy in a late 30's Chevy pulled out of a side road onto the highway. Slows down and rides beside me in the passing lane. I look over, smile, and a little guy about 6 or 7 sticks his hand out the window and gives me a thumbs up. He didn't do that to the two bikes in front of me as his dad floored it down the highway. Ended up beside him at the light and again this little hand comes out of the back window......:thumbsup2:

I've talked with quite a few folks who had rigs to take the entire family with them, and a bunch who take the dog.

Hope to meet you at a rally.

I have often thought of a hack myself, so my 4 legged friend Jake (who Is no longer with us) could go with me when I ride.

Sorry about your luck buddy but the issue isn't really customs. We are having a real issue with gang bangers being supplied with illegal hand guns smuggled in and authorities are trying to stem the flow.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I made it home safe and sound from the WNY Mini-rally.

Stayed with Dingy and his wife Sunday night. Bucked a 30 mph headwind yesterday, all day, but pleasant temps and sunny skies. Fifteen hundred and nineteen miles on the 25 year old Tuxedo.

I want to commend and thank the WNY hosts and attendees for a PERFECT event. Enjoyed the activities, the rides and the camaraderie immensely. (Even if the Marlon Brando cap was not the clincher for the Fifties costume. Congratulations to Steamer.)

So what did they miss in their search this time? Last time it was your speed loader......wasn't it?!

You had better luck then the guy next to me at the boarder. I had to go off to the side to get the new to me trailer imported. When I was done and came back out there was a car parked next to me with 3 boarder/custom guys pulling everything apart. One of the boarder guys pulls a gym-bag out of the trunk and says to the guy from the car what's in here? I hear the guy say "I told you I have money!" I notice he spoke with a pretty heavy accent. They say to him, how much do you have and the guy answers, $9,000. I thought well this sounds interesting so I take my sweet time getting ready to pull out and listen & watch. The boarder guy opens the bag on the ground behind the car and it's just full of bundles of money. He says to the guy, this looks like a lot more than $9,000. The dude from the car say, "Well yes it maybe more. I think maybe, it maybe more than $19,000. (I'm thinking 3 maybe's in one sentience, this guy is toast!)

The boarder guy with the bag says $19,000? you told me $9,000? Which is it? There is a bit of an argument back and forth about whether or not the guy said $9,000 or $19,000 in the first place cause that is what the guy is trying to say he said.

The boarder officer say well we will just go inside and count it.

The guy from the car starts to loose his mind yelling he does not speak English good and he no know how to say 9,000 or 19,000. But then he says he doesn't know how much is in the bag, in English, it could be more!? He does not speak English money. They are just trying to get him cause he does not speak English and take his money.

Well two of the boarder guys get ahold of him and grab his bag taking him off to go inside, telling him that they are just going to go inside and count his money.

From my job dealing with proceeds of crime and drug money all the time. I would say from the size of the bag and the bundles of money I could see, that guy is going to be out $40 - $50 thousand! Welcome to Canada!

Geez....been a while for you Ben? The blanket was for when we slept (few hours spread over several). You remember your youth don't you? Hmmmm.....guess not. :-p

As for the heater...with temps getting down to low to mid 50's F....not good to fall asleep all sweaty.

And you did notice our strategic location for the trailer didn't you? Separate from everyone else. :-D

You Mean right by the pathway that everyone walks along. I've heard of people rocking their campers while playing a mock recording trying to impress those who on the outside......Just didn't think you would be one of those. :whistling:

No one could have heard us over all the snoring that was happening on the other side of the campground from us. :-p

Well I jumped through all the hoops, since I crossed the boarder. I had the trailer inspected, paid the Register of Imported Vehicles to have it certified for Canadian road use. Went to the Minisrty of Transportation to get it registered with plates in Ontario and transfered the ownership into my name. So I now actually own a Time Out Camper and it is licensed legally.

Got to say the price was right or the PITA to get it here would not have been worth it.

Thanks again Steamer and RockinRobin when I get sent to the dog house now I'll have a much better place in the backyard to go to! :178:

I was totally legal this time ! I must say, the guards were polite about tearing our stuff apart. The whole thing was because of an arrest that happened way back in 1979  I was never charged in the incident. Who knows what other skeletons they'll pull out of my closet :confused24:

Sounds to me like the guy you watched got what was coming to him. Who carries that much cash besides someone that's up to no good? I guess it's possible he was going to pick up his new 3rd Gen Venture :mo money:
