I just found out that flashing or strobe brake lights are illegal under federal law, who would have known.

I think they are more or less talking about like an ambulance type lights. A couple flashes then steady shouldn't get you to much grief. Shoot you can do the same thing tapping your brake a couple times while stopping. Just one of them things, if a LEO gives you a ticket for this he has a really slow day or you PO him.
