Chaplain Dusty Posted August 10, 2015 #1 Posted August 10, 2015 I'm ready to remove the front forks on the 83' Venture Royale in order to replace the seals. The fairing and handlebars off, but I cannot find the front air valve to release the front fork pressure. The bracket that holds the hose is there, but I cannot find the hose? I've looked with a flashlight all around the given area to no avail. Any ideas out there? Chaplain Dusty
Marcarl Posted August 10, 2015 #2 Posted August 10, 2015 There is no valve, so you can quit looking. Pressure is all handled but the gizzmo under the trunk, and by the controller on the right side if your key is set in the acc position. Get and wide pan, unscrew the little drain screw at the bottom of the fork an catch the oil as it comes squirting out. Once the oil is out of the one side, insert the screw and do the same for the other side, easiest and quickest, but if your not careful a little messy.
Chaplain Dusty Posted August 10, 2015 Author #3 Posted August 10, 2015 Is this true on the 83' Venture Royale? My shop manual shows it and the bracket attached to the handlebar mount has a place for it. Chaplain Dusty
Marcarl Posted August 10, 2015 #4 Posted August 10, 2015 Yep would have all those things. Nice of them to leave them in place just in case. Not used on a Royale.
Condor Posted August 10, 2015 #5 Posted August 10, 2015 If the CLASS is still working, use it to reduce the pressure. Manually lower it to zero...... That's all I did when I installed the Progressives...
Chaplain Dusty Posted August 12, 2015 Author #6 Posted August 12, 2015 Thanks so much! I thought I was losing my tiny mind. Well, back to the job at hand. Chaplain Dusty
