Brenner Posted August 6, 2015 #1 Posted August 6, 2015 It's always great to see familiar friendly face. I am a lucky man as I have been graced by a drop by visit by Marcarl again. It is people like him who make this world a better place and I only hope that I can give the same impressions to others and assist as he does. I gave him a mini tour of my growing Harley collection and it is nice to have someone understand that ones choice of ride is sometimes made by comfort, better personal fitment, and powertrain configuration rather than a Brand name and all the unnecessary stereotyping that comes with it. I personally feel far too many people have to learn to respect others and stop ragging on those who do not ride the same product of choice. I personally am choosing to ride with those I come to respect by their actions and not by what they ride. This choice of mine is leaving me with a small number of others on which I prefer the company but I find it makes the ride much more relaxed and pleasurable. The more individuals I ride with and choose to avoid the more I respect those that I do choose to ride with. Getting back to my opening statements, it still surprises me how that strangers with nothing more a common interest can affect you in such a positive manner. My number of those I prefer to ride with is slowly growing and if anyone in my area wishes to ride and explore the road please do not hesitate to contact me as I do not care what you ride as long as you do it for enjoyment. I offer this up in hope to meet others who want the positive experience with no drama. Let's lead by example for a better riding ecperience. Ride safe, keep the shiny side up and the rubber on the road.
venturesome Posted August 6, 2015 #2 Posted August 6, 2015 I would not want to be one you chose to ride with and then chose to avoid. The humiliation would be too great, so I must respectfully decline your potential positive experience, lest it become dramatic.
Yammer Dan Posted August 6, 2015 #3 Posted August 6, 2015 You can ride a skateboard for all I care. But if you can't take the teasing that we hand out you are going to get lonely. The banter on here is rarely serious. We just have fun. We even let those Hardley riders in .....Just ask the FreeBiord. We ain't kicked him out yet......but there has been some discussion...it weren't me Boss!! But I heard some things.....
Great White Posted August 6, 2015 #4 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) I personally don't give a rats patootie what someone chooses to ride. But I do find I prefer to ride alone these days. I go a fast or slow as I want. I turn down whatever side road I want. I ride as long or short as I want. I may take the Venture, I may take the fj1200 or I may take the interceptor. Each has different benefits. The Venture can be fast or slow, it also is very calm and torque is the name of the game and its the long distance bike of choice. The fj is a ride that I often go to fast on and its engine has a soulful mourn when you get on the throttle that moves me. The interceptor is in the middle of a rebuild but it has torque and handling that also makes for a too fast ride focused more on handling. For me its about getting out and getting away from my demons, even if that is only for a few short moments. Each of my bikes and the roads I ride them on does that in a different way. I can't do that while dealing with someone else's riding style. So it matters not what someone rides to me. They have their reasons for choosing what (and where) they ride, as do I. A simple wave as we pass is sufficient. I'm just trying to keep ahead of those demons. Sometimes they're slow, sometimes they're pretty bloody fast..... Edited August 6, 2015 by Great White
Marcarl Posted August 6, 2015 #5 Posted August 6, 2015 Thanks Brenner. Good to see you again yesterday, and thanks for the complement. I'll bet Saddlebum will be ticked to get his long sought for chrome pieces,,, now he'll have to clean his scooter again once,,, wonder when he will do that and then come to show off the prettys.
