camos Posted November 22, 2015 #26 Posted November 22, 2015 I may try a set of LED H3 bulbs in my driving lights.I bought a pair of H3 LED bulbs for some projector fog lights I have and found they are physically too long. Haven't tried them out yet but the LED output does not look to be in the correct position as compared to the incandescent H3's. Success might depend on how the bulb is oriented to the reflector.

The LED lights don't fit our light housings the way halogen does. When it warms up, next week, I will try the H4 Silvastar Ultra in place of the Cree Afterberner. Although I had some of the same issues with the H4 before going to the Cree. The high beam always seemed to be higher than I felt useful but that was necessary to get the low beam on target. Remember that I have the Adjure reflectors in the headlight.

I used my calipers to measure the depth of the Adjure housing and then got a bulb that would fit in it. Mine work good. The certainly are better then the incandescents and I like them better than the halogens I had in also.
camos Posted November 24, 2015 #29 Posted November 24, 2015 I believe that this is the problem we are dealing with. The LED lights don't fit our light housings the way halogen does. Seems to me the biggest con is that the LED light does not place the light source at a point that is compatible with the housing reflector. Making an LED replacement bulb for the halogen H3 should not be such a difficult task and yet, for some reason, no one has done it.

Auto LED lights are LED only on many models without a reflector. And like the Larsen spot lights I installed, there is no reflector since I had to remove the Adjure to install the LED. But isn't it amazing, the technology that has evolved since the introduction of the Gen 2 Venture?

Sylvester Posted November 25, 2015 Author #32 Posted November 25, 2015 Hi Jim,, check out my LED'S http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=393&title=led-replacement-motorcycle-headlight-bulb&cat=30 Thanks, Steve www.CustomizeThatRide.com Thankis Steve, looks similar to the Afterburner but I do notice a difference (I think). I won't know until I remove the Cree. Seems to me that there is and extention on what you show that is probably the high beam. I will get back with you when I get around to removing the Cree.
pa_don Posted November 26, 2015 #33 Posted November 26, 2015 Steve, Do you have / recommend any passing lamp replacements to mate to the Fusion LED Headlight? pa_don
Sylvester Posted November 27, 2015 Author #34 Posted November 27, 2015 Steve, Do you have / recommend any passing lamp replacements to mate to the Fusion LED Headlight? pa_don Do you have a site for these? I don't come up with them except on Facebook. I think the Scotlights would look good and function great but not sure they will fit our RSV's.
Sylvester Posted November 27, 2015 Author #35 Posted November 27, 2015 Steve, Do you have / recommend any passing lamp replacements to mate to the Fusion LED Headlight? pa_don Found the site. Their bulb is not much different than most cree lights which I have in the Afterburner brand. I use the Larsen 20 deg. spot for pass lights and it works very well. https://www.larsenlights.com/par-36-45-18-watt-flood-light
pa_don Posted November 28, 2015 #36 Posted November 28, 2015 Sylvester, Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure which version of the light anyone had tried and if they liked the results. pa_don
Sylvester Posted November 30, 2015 Author #37 Posted November 30, 2015 Sylvester, Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure which version of the light anyone had tried and if they liked the results. pa_don The trapazoid flood was recommended by another member, but the light diffusion was so wide and high that I felt it dangerous to oncoming traffic and therefore to me also.
DarrinGT Posted December 1, 2015 #38 Posted December 1, 2015 I love the Truck Lite LED's I installed Passing Lamps and Head Light, Literally a Nite and Day difference. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRUCK-LITE-80275-LED-PASSING-LAMP-S-FOR-HARLEY-PHASE-7-NIB-/151041625595
