Techguy3636 Posted July 14, 2015 #1 Posted July 14, 2015 I am new to the forum and to the Venture Family. I have a 1988 Venture with original radio and cassette deck. I want to find upgrade with bluetooth. Would like it to replace old unit so I don't have more accessories mounted to bike. Any help welcome.
videoarizona Posted July 15, 2015 #2 Posted July 15, 2015 TG36, Do a search of the forums. There's a ton of info here on cleaning up the bike when you take off the old audio stuff. Some members have put the replacement radio in the same area as the old stuff. Lots of pictures as well. The CB comes off the right side...the cassette, radio and amp...off the left side. One antenna wire running back to rear. Of course, this is assuming the bike is stock. Keep searching and use different search strings. Let us know what you decide and take lots of pics! david
Techguy3636 Posted July 15, 2015 Author #3 Posted July 15, 2015 I did look around but didnt come up with what I was hoping for. I will continue to look around and see if there are better searches to use. Thank you for your response.

You have to change the search parameters to get different "looks" at the situation. Really depends upon how much you want to remove or replace. Everything from the antenna to the speakers to the CB, radio and tape deck can be removed and discarded. Hope this helps... david
Great White Posted July 15, 2015 #5 Posted July 15, 2015 I just didn't bother with the radio (my 83 doesn't have one but I have it all in the attic). I just made a mount for my iPhone 6 plus, stuck a USB source in the lighter socket (will do a more integrated solution this winter) and bought a sena smh-10 Bluetooth intercom. Whatever the iternet can bring (whatever radio staion you could ever want from pretty much anywhere) and all my music is at my fingertips all the time. I also have intercom with the missus and anyone else on another bike within a mile (as long as they have a BT headset). Finally, with TomTom installed on my phone I have GPS with voice guidance. I thought about putting the radio in my bike but once I took a hard look at it, its just not worth the trouble or the extra weight. Ymmv....
