gez Posted July 12, 2015 #1 Posted July 12, 2015 My front brake lever has ceased to retract smoothly. Pull on it to activate the brake and it hits a hard spot. You can pull past it with pressure where it happens again. Pull past that, it again hits a hard spot. Full braking can be applied, but the lever doesn't retract smoothly. Fluid is clear and fairly new. I don't remember this happening instantly after the flush and bleeding. Any ideas?
Marcarl Posted July 12, 2015 #2 Posted July 12, 2015 Try a bit of oil in the lever bearing, but not on the master piston
gez Posted July 12, 2015 Author #3 Posted July 12, 2015 Try a bit of oil in the lever bearing, but not on the master piston Thanks for the quick reply. Oiled it up, seems a bit better. I'm on the way out to burn a tank of fuel and see what happens.
M61A1MECH Posted July 12, 2015 #4 Posted July 12, 2015 My 07 started to do that, I had to drain the master cylinder and remove the piston and clean everything to remove all the old sediment. Also did as Marcal suggested and lubed up the pivot point when I pit it all back together.
RedRider Posted July 13, 2015 #5 Posted July 13, 2015 A few years ago, mine was doing this. Took apart the lever, lubed the hinge and it was good to go. RR
