RoyalRider05 Posted July 7, 2015 #1 Posted July 7, 2015 Hey all, Reaching out to see who has experienced this... I just tightened the bearings and after about 1000 miles when i go over big bumps or hit the brake and the forks travel a good distance i feel a click in the handle bar. No wobble or anything...feels solid. Any ideas?
RoyalRider05 Posted July 7, 2015 Author #2 Posted July 7, 2015 After messing with it some more. It sure feels like its coming from the top of the steering head. Did i not tighten the bearings enough? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Ace Posted July 7, 2015 #3 Posted July 7, 2015 Check the top chrome nut on top of the triple tree to make sure it is tight.
RoyalRider05 Posted July 7, 2015 Author #4 Posted July 7, 2015 Yep shes tight! Check the top chrome nut on top of the triple tree to make sure it is tight.
Freebird Posted July 7, 2015 #5 Posted July 7, 2015 A bit unusual for a bike that new but I would suspect that the springs are worn out. If they have never been replaced, I would be looking at installing a set of Sonic springs.
videoarizona Posted July 7, 2015 #6 Posted July 7, 2015 Sounds like you are bottoming out on the shocks or the shocks are hitting something at end of travel.. It would be normal to hear the click at the top of the system since the fairing will funnel the sound right up to you...as well as the mechanical linkage between the metal shocks and the metal suspension and steering are all tied together. I would put about 5 pounds of air in front shocks with manual pump and go for test ride. If she still bottoms out, you have two problems...both the springs and air suspension are not working. If the air helps, then the mechanical side (springs) are not working. Broken spring maybe? Something broke inside? Time to take things apart and a good looksee...
RoyalRider05 Posted July 8, 2015 Author #7 Posted July 8, 2015 Thanks for the responses! Been busy at work and have not had a chance to mess with it yet. When i do i will report back the results!
